Alright guys,

One of my fat Xentec ballasts had gone bad (had it for 6 months or so).

I'm thinking of buying a set of slim Xentec kit to replace it.

How do you guys like them so far?

How long you have had them?

Let your opinion be loud and clear.

Thanks

thanks for the positive feedback.

I've never had problems with running these HIDs in "auto" mode. However, I didn't wire my low beams and fogs as plug-and-play. I used two separate relays for lows and fogs to pick up 12vdc direct from the battery.

Right now I took the 12vdc power feed to the fogs because it is silly to drive with 1 fog light on. Only hid low beams for now til winter is over.

I love mine except for the whole AUTO issue. I've learned to live with it though.

Took the words right out of my mouth. I always turn my lights off when the car turns off then turn it back to AUTO once they need to come back on.

I do the same thing, just in a different order. When I turn off the engine... I leave the lights in AUTO because I love the whole... "Oh, you left your lights on. Oh, no I didn't. They turn off by themselves."

Once I get back into my car, right before I turn the engine on; I flick the switch to OFF, turn the engine on, then flick the switch back to AUTO.

They usually dont fire up if you leave the lights on auto.

I'm assuming you guys are referring to the slim xentec ballasts, is that right?

I wonder with my current setup would eliminate that in "auto" mode when I replace these fat ballasts with slim ballasts.

I do the same, I switch the light to off when the engine is off. And switch back to auto when engine is on and dark outside. Sometimes, I also leave it in auto and never had a misfire (knock on wood).

I have the slim ballasts and have no problems so far. I leave them in the "auto" mode. We shall see later since I have only had them on the car about a month now. They are great!!!

That's right, they don't fire up in auto mode. The most f...ed up thing is when only one side fired up. It's hard to figure out if both light are one. Unless you behind somebody's car or wall in front of you. You probably will get like everybody else. Gray mettal box with noname. Everything will be packed in big black cardboard box with red lettering on it. Xentec. Everything was made in china. Xentec or Hentec as a HID company does not exist.

Check this link out! http://ddmtuning.com/hidkihidbuhi.html Check if somebody had any issues with this.

Try to find a better brand. Probably you will pay $40-50 extra but it's worth it. I wish i knew this info before and spend extra money.

thanks bro for the review.

That is also a reason why I am swaying towards the X-light hid conversion kits which I already have a set for my lows.

I installed the xentec super slim 6000k kit for my low beams about a month ago, no problems to report yet. About a week after that I installed the fog lights with the same kit, no problems to report.

I know some have reported that their lights don't all fire up when you start your car if the headlight is set on auto. So far that has not happen to me. I do always turn my fog lights off so when it does start its not firing up all 4 lights. I read someone that firing them takes a lot of power, so starting the engine and firing the lights may result in some not going on.

I recommend them though.
