Hey everyone,

Since I've never had any mods done to my car before this, I need to know what your opinions are on a quote I got from a local shop to install the Eibachs on my Coupe...I'm posting the exact response...your input would be appreciated...and if anyone knows any other shops that are reputable and cheaper please let me know!!!..***********************************************************

Sorry for the delay in the response. The cost to install that kit would be $275.00 + tax and $89.99 + tax for the alignment. If you are interested, please email me back and we can arrange to set up a time for you. Thank you, Steven Muir Street Wyze Customs1 - 2235 Industrial StreetBurlington, OntarioL7P 3E1905-319-0857http://www.streetwyzecustoms.com

Kinda high. I think I had mine installed for around $260 including the alignment.

Shop around. If you have time you can do it yourself as it's not hard, just time consuming and often frustrating

That's way too much! Labor is usually by the hour ($80-$100 or so) and it'll take the average guy about 2 hours. Alignments can be done anywhere for around $60-$80. Shop around all the speed shops in your area. You could save over $100 by doing so.

That is not right. Also, I thought you have to want several months...to let the Spring settle before you get an Alignment, correct me if I'm wrong.

I can't remember the shop but it's located on the corner of Dundas & Dixie, several Acura RSX got it done there. I can't remember where I got my Pro Kit installed.

Another shop is iGarage (Google it), Ivan runs it and I've dealt with him/cheap but he's in Markham/Scarborough.

Kinda depends. If the alignment is off after you install the springs the first time then you will suffer via poor tire wear. Best bet is to have an alignment and then go back after a few months and have another.

Agreed, alight twice, rotate all as often as possible for the first 6-9k miles (Like every 2-3k miles if you can), just to be safe. It may seem like overkill but a good set of tires (Especially, if you've gone to low profile Z rated) will set you back much more when inspection time comes.

dude, when the springs come out, give me a $100 bucks and I'll install them perfectly... I installed springs on 98 sentra, coilovers on my 2000 altima, springs my wifes 2006 civic, and springs on my last 2005 altima - none needed alignment. The only time you need alignment is if the parts are not handled gently and the geometry of the suspension is compromised. You're just lowering the stance of the car - the ONLY thing that will be affected is the camber and an alignment won't fix that.. But a little bit of negative camber is good for performance, PLUS our cars have mcpherson struts up from so they don't camber like a wishbone suspension would and the back has that multi link independent suspension so it barely cambers. on my last car, i did NOT have any uneven tread wear. Changed the tires ONCE because I kept hitting nails but that's about it... this is on a two inch drop. if you start doing coilovers with a lower drop then a nice camber adjustment will be WANTED but majority of coilovers come with a camber adjustment built in... and if you REALLY need an alignment because you're OCD like me LOL then I know a great place in Gardena that does it by hand and specializes in lowered vehicles. $70!

Wow, that was a first! I've always had my car aligned after dropping. Why? To get the entire suspension into factory specs. Of course you don't have to do the alignment, but you will be off no matter what!

yeah, none of my cars needed it after the drop, the alignment stayed nice, tight and straight... I got a periodic one for maintainence, and when a mechanic had to bang a stud out the alignment was thrown off while a simple brake change... what always helped was NOT tugging on the assembly or turning the wheels while the opposite one was stationary... I like to be careful and slow and not bang **** off... my last piece of work was my wife's civic and MAN that thing handled beautifully.
