Hi, just need an opinion of what I should be able to get for my 2001 Se Anniversary Edition...........The car was my company car and I bought it out. She has 242000km or around 145000 miles. The majority of the mileage is highway. Anyways, she still runs like a top and looks very good still.Within the last 10000 kms or 6000 miles I've done a major tune up replacing all plugs, transmission flush, power steering flush, new exhaust, new mass air flow sensor, 2 new 02 sensors, 1 abs sensor, 4 new Bridgeston Ecsta tires, 4 brand new Michelin X-ice snow tires, all new shocks, new tie rod ends, new passenger side rear wheel bearing, fuel injection service, flushed radiator, air conditioning service and new windshield. Lots of work done in the last year. There is no rust on the car either. She has been really reliable over the last 7 years. Only reason I'm selling her is I'm looking at a new Maxima.ThanksWalter

I usually find that http://www.kbb.com is pretty accurate for figuring out prices.

You might want to ask just a bit above KBB PP.

They've done a great job on the new Max!! I have a co-worker looking at them and I went along on her test drive. Very nice!

Walter, I live in Abbotsford. I just bought a '94 for $1800 with 176KM. It also had full service records and everything was pretty much done, except a few minor issues that I figure will cost me about $300 to repair myself. I know a '94 and '01 aren't fair comparisons, but mileage is a big factor.

I think your mileage is your biggest obstacle. Save yourself a lot of time and hassle and be sure to post your mileage in your ad. It's the first thing people want to know and you'll weed out everyone that isn't going to consider your car becasue of the mileage. Anyone who calls will be a potentially serious buyer.

Best source for market evaluation is craigslist, the buy and sell and maybe the auto trader. Those sources should all give you a pretty good idea of what people are asking, and allow you to set your price accordingly. All of them are available on-line. I don't know what it is about our area, but be prepared to get ground and chiseled by EVERYONE. Nobody here wants to give you a fair price, they want to steal it.

A ballpark stab.... I'd say $2500-3500 for a 8 year old car with 242K. But I'd defer to the market price on craigslist, etc..
