RB20DET or SR20DET I know it has been asked a million times but I have a friend who is set on an RB. I have an SR20DET. I was wondering straight stock which engine is faster on a 1/4 mile???????????????????????

I knew i would get flamed but can anyone tell me without being an @$$ which is fast in the 1/4?

They should be almost exactly equal, but the RB will sound better

Depending on which series SR you get, the OEM crank hp numbers are almost the same as the RB20. With S13 and S14 SR's, the RB will have a very small hp advantage that will be offset by a small weight and weight distribution disadvantage.

But of course if you're talking S15 SR20 then it's not even close (to an RB20), and an RB25 would be a better comparison.

So yeah, you cannot make your decision based only on 1/4 mile time because there is really no significant difference in power/weight ratios.
