I have a 1997 Kouki LE so it has the 4 lug rims. The car is dropped but with the stock rims, it looks blaa so to say. I want to get rims but should I do a conversion to a 5 lug set up?

If so, anyone know what the cost is?

If no, are people running wide rims on 4 lugs no problems and easily available?

This is my road bump with this project right now so I hope you can help.

Thanks :help:

Price is around $500 for 5 lug conversion.
Im sure you can find it a lot cheaper used somewhere though.

Don't waste your money really on 4 lug wheels its hard to find good specs. Although you can.

I'm pretty sure all Koukis are 5lug from the factory.

I could be wrong though.

Nice looking (not steelies) 4lug wheels are out there, but you'll have to look.

The differences from LE to SE (so Im told) is no sunroof, 4 lug rims, no rear sway bar, softer suspension, no rear truck opener (remotely), no side skirts (optional), and there may be other difference that Im forgeting. I once heard that the SE came with a factory LSD but dont quote me on that.

Unfortunatly, I have the weaker model. But for me to find a Kouki in my area that runs and drives PLUS only 84,000 miles was a deal I wasnt going to let go. Its a tuner so if theres something about the car I dont like, ill change it! Thats why I ask about 5 lug conversion.

i always thought base models were 4 lug with nothin much for comfort

SE (Special Edition) are 5 lug with power every thing and spoiler

LE (Luxury Edition) are also 5 lug but with leater int and sunroof

But most of the time i'm wrong, so if i am some one correct me

Im confuzed about my car because the guy stipped the emblems off before I saw it. It has 4 lug rims but still has power windows and locks. Its like I got an LE-Base compilation. Anyone know what vin letter and position I would look for to tell what trim I have?

The LE's are just SE's with TAN leather interiors.

My SE is 5-lug has black leather interior, sunroof, power everything ect.

Unless somewhere along the line the car got it's parts swapped over to a base model and the base model parts to it. I don't see how it's a LE.

There are some decent options for 4 lug, OP. See my sig.

Personally, I would only bother going 5 lug if I wanted wheels wider than 9.5 inches wide.

If you are doing widebody, then you'll want 5-lug for wider wheels. For S14 the 5-lug is easy and cheap.
