I was in Vegas. It was 110 outside with full sun in a black on black M. The a/c kept me cool. But sometimes I feel like the auto sensor makes it too cold or too warm... I find myself bumping it up/down by a few degrees.

This was the first thing I ever took the car back for an elite check up, because from the cars I've had experience with, this car DOES NOT blow as cold as it should (my opinion). Infiniti claims it is as cold and blows to spec which I find to be sad.

I have no issues with my M and the A/C we had a few days of 100+ weather and she kept me cool... I keep it at 70 auto all the time....

I should have been clearer with what I said, my issue is when the car is not moving. When in motion I guess I get what im suppose to get.

How did you get 40F? I can't go below 60.

It has to do with the R134 freon. R12 used to be better in that it would cool at a stop or in motion..

What is " 40-38"? When I said 60, I meant the lowest my AC can be set to.

Is it possible to convert the car to r134? Would it be expensive?

Possibly the air that comes directly out of the vent is in the 30-40 f. degree range. But the lowest the thermostat goes for the ambient temperature of the cabin is 60 f.

OK. It so happen that I got a thermometer for my trunk, so I used that to test the temp out the vent. After 15-20 min the best I got down to was 51F if that helps you any.

From my limited knowledge, I believe the measure of performance in air conditioning is a 20 degree temperature drop between the room & the air immediately after the coil.

To accurately compare our cars, we'd have to be testing in the same weather. I can probably get a lower reading coming out of the vents when I'm in 60 degree oceanside weather, than another member testing in 120 desert heat.

According to the FSM (page ATC-91), the discharge air temp is a function of ambient air temperature and relative humidity. The 51F value you found actually seems to be pretty good. They give a range of 48-51F at 77F ambient to 62-68 at 95 ambient (50-60% RH)
