Ok, I told everyone I was looking and I finally found one that isnt in bad shape body and interior wise that I have talk to the seller about and we have worked everything out, before I finalize this sale I want your opinion. He has the head apart and said its fine and all the valves are ok. He said it needs a new headgasket and timing chain. He said he has a new headgasket he purchased that I could have with the car. Said he did not have time to put it in and does not want to mess with it anymore. Like i said I want YOUR opinion. (pics below). (wish i could make them bigger for ya.. )

Front

Engine (where he took the head out to clean it)

Door (where it looks like someone tried to bondo it)

Interior (2 cracks in dash no biggie i guess)

Left rear side

Right rear side

Well it was obviously owned by a ricer/bandwagon-hopper so it's probly not too well-taken care of. I'm betting the brakes are shot at the very least, and he beat the living piss out of the engine. And rust doesn't please me, I'd say it'd have to be like $700 or lower for me to pick it up.

I wouldn't dish out more than $500 for a car in that shape with an engine half disassembled. You don't know what else could be wrong...

my opinion I would wait and see if i could find another 240 that will run when you buy it. Its not even like its just the engine needs to be reassembled. the dash is cracked that door needs some help. I'd wait but thats just me.

I agree, it is alot easier to put something back together you took aprt then when someone else took it apart. Correct me if I'm wrong but I counted 3 cracks in the dash and black dashes are hard to come by. I think $500 would be a fair offer but I wouldn't pay more.

i agree with them... I bought mine for 700 and it was from a little asian man moving back to bejing. He just finished college at penn, and it was an automatic pos wreck that leaked coolant. but the rear half is pretty straight... so i dunno... id wait - you can find a unhit - less apart one cheap

btw my interior is flawless.

unless youre mechanically inclined, i would hold off and look for a nicer one that actually drives, so you can get a feel for the entire car before you purchase it. thats just someone elses junk right there. dont know about you guys, but i would never buy a car that someone else had their grubby hands all over. keep looking man. there are plenty of 240s out there. i looked for over two months to find my baby. well worth the wait too. That is a good parts car. It an auto, minor body damage, and somebody couldn't finish a headgasket job. You don't need to take the intake manifold off to change the headgasket. Might be worth it if you could find a complete running new motor with a manual trans for cheap.

I could probably find one, finding a 240 isnt the thing i am having problems with i guess. My problem is finding the "exact" one lol. I am looking for a 91-93 240sx hatch (se?) (honestly would love a 92 but will settle lol)

Parts car...that thing's a wreck. Buy a car to turn into a project not a project to turn into a car (SCC).

I bought my 240sx hatch project car for $600.It had a blown head gasket. But bnody was good with the exception of one door being hit.Be real easy to fix.
