i have an s13 with 200,000k plus miles that i currently am working on.
question: should i rebuild the stock 4 lug or go 5?

by rebuild i mean new oe bearings, arp studs, ect

OR say ichiba/s14 5 lug conversion?

five lugs give you more wheels choices (obviously), but is there any other upside? say for z32 brakes?

thanks

main reason is more wheel options. there are plenty of brake options... 5>4/5<4.... i wouldnt put 5 lug at the top of my mod list

Precisely. Decide first what kind of wheel fitment you want and if you can find that in 4x114.3. Personally, I wouldn't go 5 lug unless I was planning on running wheels 10 inches wide or more. Between 9 to 9.5 inches wide, there are some decent 4 lug options.
