Welcome visitors to a board that has been built as a resource for all people interested in saving and restoring their old Datsun Pickups. With your help we can create resources for owners to find parts, pictures, schematics, repair guides, and advice. If you're not an owner, don't worry, in our search for parts we're always running into trucks for sale and there will be a place for that here as well. If this board is going to be a success it needs the help of it's members. I have a repair manual for the 320 as well as a collision parts guide that I intend to scan and upload to the site. I know some of you have that information on the other models. If you have no way to scan that information email me and we can make arrangements to do that for you. I also need volunteers to help moderate the board.  If you can help send me an email.

Ken-

Thanks for getting this thing up and running.  I know it will take a while for this to catch on, but once it does, it will be way easier than the old list server format.  You should see if you can get some sponsors such as Too Intense Restoration or others to help with the costs of the board.  I will try to find all my old Datsun stuff and reproduce here, but it will take a while to dig it out of storage.

Dave can you send me a bigger picture of your truck? Your's looks like what I'd like mine to look. I'm in no hurry to build this site, but with member help we'll make it great. Thanks for the sponsor suggestions. I'll start sending out requests. Ken

I will definitely bud.  Its on hold right now unti I finish my 521/720 frame swap and the 68 F250 4x4 get out the door.  Until then I am just prioritizing what needs to be done and drawing plans on finishing.  Its all installed and ready to go.  I made custom motor mounts (rubber not solid), and custom transmission mounts, have to shorten driveshaft and then its driveable.  Its a 86 Mustang GT 5.0HO roller motor and right now I am deciding on the 4 speed Borg Warner or 5 speed.  The rear is installed from the 5.0, its a 8.8 posi trac.  I'm thinking of installing an air bag suspension also for better control.  All this is done professionally by me, no hack jobs.  I have seen some stuff and its awfull with things like this.  I have alot of thought and time put in for this to look really stock, but sound like its not.  I will have a custom shop soon opening in the valley, can't find a good site for it.  Sac is bad for locations for new business.

Chris, I love you dude! But..... You should upgrade the brakes with that monster set-up! I'd go disk all around with the weight/power ratio might even consider a "chute and or roll-bar"!:dude:

Having driven a 320 with stock brakes for 25 years, I know that he must have a brake upgrade in mind.  The stock brakes are scary with a 4 cyl.!

Ken, I know theres been talk of opening up a section for the 620's. I may have a friend who'd be willing to moderate that section depending on his time schedule. He has been around & owned 620's for many years. Ill email him to see if hes interested if thats ok with you.

That's great news Pac! I've had one member ask about adding a section for cars, if we considered that I'd want to poll the members. I personally don't have a problem with that. Any thing we can do to help someone find others, expertise, help and parts for these old vehicles is ok with me.

Ken I spoke with my friend about moderating a 620 section, he said hes interested but just doesnt have the time to do it. I myself am now a 620 owner & going through alot just trying to get it running. Im not that knoledgable yet on the 620's but I'm learning alot as I work on mine. Maybe a 620 section soon would be helpfull, is there a way to open it without a moderator?

I don't see why not, we did the 520! P.S. I'll make a safari to the garage tomorrow and see if I can find my old 620 manual, if so I can send it to you. PS you can run them with only one set of points! Mine was affectionatly named the "poop truck". When I got it there was a piece missing out of one of the valves the size of my thumb, it ran rough but it ran for nearly two years before I figured out what was wrong and rebuild the motor.

Ken I thought id post a few pics of my 74 620 that I got a few months ago incase we ever get a 620 section up & running. So far ive replaced the core support & lowered it. As of today i found out Ill need to rebuild the motor because of low compression in all of the cylinders...:?

It all depends on what year the truck is. A 1600 would be the L 16 [1.6L] motor. That motor was used in both the 521's & the early 620's.

If it is a 75 then it came with a L18 and if it has a 1600 in it now then it was transplanted...

no  the motor is sitting in the box of the truck but on the side fender there is a badge that says datsun 1600 must be 70 to 73

ok...hmm...so if I put a badge on my truck that says "lincoln navagator" or better yet "V12"....:D

Just kidding!!! It sounds like a 521 as the 620's didn't have that distinction...take a look thru the 521 section at the pictures...is them what you have?

the 520's and early 521's came with 1300's...but that fender badge was solely a 521s
