Thanks a bunch for checking this out, any help/perspective is very much appreciated.

So I just had the fuel pressure regulator issue on my Versa. It's an 07 and was out of warranty for 2 months when it started acting up so I had to cover the cost (almost $400). Since this seems to be a very common problem, I was a bit pissed that there hadn't been some sort of recall or bulletin issued so I called Nissan today to enquire. The csr lady said that they have no known problems on the fuel pressure regulator and that my complaint was the first they had documented. Based on the number of comments on this forum I find that REALLY hard to believe so I'm asking the question here:

Have you had this issue on your Versa? Just answering the poll is very much appreciated. If you have any additional comments (called Nissan?, told there was a bulletin issued?, have some sort of proof that Nissan knows this is an extensive issue?) that would also be fantastic.

Thanks guys...

I haven't had it yet on my 2007 but I fully expect to at one time or another. Enough of them have gone bad that based on the bulletin they should have issued a recall or extended the warranty like they did the CVTs. Nissan obviously has no faith in the part but sees it as a repair cash cow. I don't see why I should see it any differently.

i had it on my '09 a few months ago. I dropped it off, told them about the TSB, and picked it up the next day. it is still under warranty, but they knew what to do.

What is a TSB? (Sorry for the noob question)... Is it a formal document or notice from Nissan?

Technical Service Bulletin.
It is a formal document from Manufacturer to Dealer Service Dept.
NOT the same as a Recall Notice, which is sent to the customer [and usually Dealer], and usually safety related.

No sweat on noob-ness!
This is great forum cuz its for noobs, techies, and anybody with the V-bug!

Not only is there a TSB for the Versa's with the fuel regulator but I also looked up one for a friend with a Sentra and saw it impacted 2006 models and later. The original Versa TSB that came out did not include my 2009 Versa but the revised TSB now includes all 2009's and earlier. Mine is acting up and I plan to have it done. I looked up the part prices and saw the regulator was less than $20 whereas the big "O ring" was less than $26.

I had mine replaced as well. A couple of times my dad noticed the car was not starting right away, so last September (2009) we took it in, left it their, and picked it up within a few hours. All covered under warranty.

Thanks so much for all the info everyone, much appreciated. Basically it sounds like the rep I spoke to didn't know what she was talking about. Is there any sort of ID number associated with this TSB or does anyone know the exact wording so that I can call back and talk it with them? Also, any chance that this is a US specific TSB and not valid in Canada (I'm based in Toronto)?

it is very possible a TSB will be issued for one country and not another, even for nearly identical model.
VeeDubs are known for this.
For this TSB, i have no experience, but plenty do!
PS just cast my vote...thanks!
