I started in Z31s. I actually was wanting to get the S30 I have now before the sister of the woman I bought the S30 from told me she had decided to sell her Z31. The S30 was just too much of a project for me to fit into even my loose definition of "daily driver", and I already had one project car.

I don't find the S30 statistic too surprising though. This is the Classic Z section after all... but you also have to think about prices. A lot of people got into Zs before even the S130s existed. Not that long ago the Z32 was the last generation of Z they had made, and the Z31 sat kind of in the financial situation I'm seeing Z32s dipping into right now. The cheap, 20 year old cars were the S30s, so it would seem logical that they would have been relatively cheap and easy to get. The next generation of Z owners (me, perhaps) will get the Z31 as the cheaper "entry" Z car. And before too long, the Z31 will be a classic and the Z32 will be seen as the odd man out being neither new nor classic./random rant

My Z31 is first and only one, I had a Celica in 1977 new (first car at 16) as a poor man's Z.

The Z31 issue is finding one that mother rust hasn't feasted on with a vengence.

my first was a 74 260Z.

If you or anyone else would like me to check out any cars for you here in NM, just drop me a line. I'll be happy to help out. There's even some cheap vehicle shippers here. So look online and in the papers for NM cars. I'll see if I can help.

All of my Z's have been Z31s. Don't have anything against the other models, just really happy with my current cars.

First Z was an S30 with an F54/P79 L28E from an '83 S130.

Second and current Z has a bit more haha.

Would love to have any generation, but I'd really like a white pearl Z32 TT.

My current fear on the roads are Mk. I Golf's. I've seen those little twin cam motors put out numbers that would embarass any L series motor in a tiny little s***box golf.

First car was an 84 turbo z31. Some guy came into my work and told me about z31.com. From there my life was ruined...

77 S30, been hooked since. 30 plus z's later and im left with 1 78 factory 5 speed and ac car, 1 10th anniversary 280zx, 4 z32's (one TT), a rb26, and not a single z31 left. Love the z31's but cant go back now and someone will have to pry the 78 out of my cold dead hands.

My first Z would be my '79 280zx. I followed that up about a month later with an '85 300zx 2+2.

My first Z was a 1975 280Z. Only owned it for like 2-2.5 years. Still have it, just haven't owned it that long...I'm currently on my 3rd engine . First, the stock L28 pooped out on me on the freeway..Then I had a L28ET put in, now it's getting a RB.

Yes they did, but they only marketed them as an '89 in Japan. All '89 produced USDM models were marketed as the '90 model.
