The classic King's Quest games were a lot of fun. The Brothers Chaps did a good job satirizing them with Peasant's Quest.

Favorite game of all time: Half-Life (PC version) - I remember the first time playing it, when at the beginning of the game, right after the **** started hitting the fan. You had to make your way back to the elevator. You hit the button, and the doors struggled to open, exposing the shaft. All of a sudden, the elevator itself comes free-falling down, it's passenger screaming to his death. Right then and there, I knew this game was special.

a VERY close second: Final Fantasy 7.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is my favorite by a long shot.

It's just incredibly fun and engaging. Even today.

I don't so much have favourite games as I have favourite franchises.

But if it had to be just one it would be the original Thief: The Dark Project from Eidos. The second in the triliogy (Metal Age) is so-so and the last one (Deadly Shadows) had loads of potential but is just ok - it felt like it was released before it was complete. I keep hoping for a new one but nothing is on the radar yet.

Splinter Cell is another favourite (I like stealth games), but it looks like Ubi may have screwed the latest installment up by making it feel more like a Jason Bourne movie than Sam Fisher sneaking about in places where he shouldn't be. Shame on them.

And I've been playing a lot of Starfleet Command 2 on my laptop recently. I'm an old Star Fleet Battles board gamer and this SFC is a near perfect example of how to transfer a complex board game (the Star Fleet Battle rulebook fits in a three inch 3-ring binder!) to the computer.
