Hey guysI know we are all partial to the BRM. i love the duels and that is probably what i will get. i was wondering what else is out there. here is what im looking for-

Nice melow tone, NO FART PIPENice single or duel tips, no large 4 inch crapNO ROUND CANS, preferably ovalstainless construction w/ resignatorand to spend no more than $600OO, and a gain of somewhere around 8 hp. power is important too!

YES, i know brm fits all these criterias. i am just being a good consumer and seeing what else is out there

I always thought the Blitz Nur Spec would be sweet to own, but I won't have $600 to spend on it for a while..

BRM 3" stainless, resonated, with 3" cat. Sounds mean as hell with a deep tone. Worth every penny. Greg also had the shop tweak the dimensions a little so the fit is perfect now. Just go buy one, you know you want to

Definitely the BRM 3" Exhaust, 22" Long Resonator, 3" cat. Awesome sound. No bees, no raspiness, only low-deep sounds.

The HKS Sport exhaust . . . I like it, heh. It's not much nosier than stock, and with your windows up, chances are you might not even notice it around town at low engine speeds. It has a nice "growl" to it with the windows open, and as the engine speeds climb, it only sounds better (for the most part); it's not stainless steel, it's just aluminized, but as it sees the same CT winters as yours will, it hasn't dulled/rusted at all thus far. It looks fairly stock . . . the tips are a little larger than factory, and they are chrome, which adds an element of class to the car, but nothing obnoxious, and the police seem to be oblivious to it.

The only negative thing I have to say about it is that it gets annoying on the highway. On ever 600 mile trip to or from school, it really starts to get on my nerves. I drove a friend home on the last trip back, and they didn't notice it, or say anything if they did, but I certainly do . . . just something to keep in mind, if long trips on a regular basis are in your future, heh. Good luck with it man.

Yeah, the HKS name makes up part of the cost, but it's certainly a good exhaust; hard to quantify an increase in performance, as before it was put on, the entire exhaust pipe had rusted off the flange right behind the cat, so it was almost like having no exhaust at all. The only thing I can quantify about the HKS in particular is that after adding the exhaust, I saw my average MPG go from around 21 to around 24-25, with NO change in driving at all (the driving at that time being strictly around town). That spoke volumes, and with gas prices these days, $$$ for me. On the highway, combined with the rebuilt engine, I can get 29 MPG easy . . . works for me. :-)

how is 4 inch crap... 4 inch is gangster. its unaffordable check out a lot of the jdm catback exhausts a lot of them are over 110mm tip.

600 bucks can get almost anything just check out different websites.

for 600 i wouldnt want a stainless id rather save up for a TI. there are some hks jdm exhausts at hks-power.co.jp, a jic titanium for like 700, and if ur balling theres arc titanium winkwink but oh yeah those are all 3-4inches+ nm

update on opinion: well i love the blitz realize TT but i just was looking at stats and it is 80mm... THATS 3 INCH. do i really need 3 inch piping for a NA stock ka. wont this hurt my performance? and does ne1 have soundclips (of any exhaust)

ive got the buddy club spec II and although it does have a 4inch tip(3 inch piping) it doesnt really look like any other exhaust that ive seen, it kinda just looks like a pipe....it sounds good, the only kind of sound deadening in it is the mid-pipe resonator, but its not loud at all, i mean the kind of loud you woould expect yea....but nothing like a fart can at all....

SIDE PIPE! I got mine for $60, loud as hell even with the cat, but sounds pretty good. just take it to a muffler shop and get a pipe with a 90ish degree bend and dump it right out the drivers side. I dont have a sound clip but i have a video of me doing donuts but alas, i have dialup and therefor you are SOL.

An Apex'i N1 isn't a fart can since when? It's a canister shaped muffler that's loud and *highly* visible. No one's saying it's not a quality exhaust, but outside of the rice rocket community (and often within) "mufflers", and I use the term very loosely, like that are referred to as fart cans. If it bothers you so much what others think of your exhaust, maybe get something else?

I'm back at school now man, and my car and exhaust are both completely covered in a nice calcium/salt/sand mixture, but as soon as I get it cleaned up and can get a camera out in the lot, I'll take a pic of the HKS for you, heh.

I know we weren't going to speak of BRM's, but is anyone unhappy with theirs? Do you really get performance gains from BRM exhaust?
