i was wondering how long you guy's clutches last? take into consideration driving style and power too. last year around this time, i got a new borg warner clutch put in. it feels a little light, but its not slipping. i was just wondering if it shoud be good for a little longer or not. i dont drive agressive all the time, but some times i do. and i rarely drop the clutch. thanks, also what kinds of clutches do you guys use and how long have they lasted.

Hell, I have a 95 and it still has the ORIGINAL clutch. As in, the same one it had the day it rolled off the line. It slips some, can't drop it anymore, but I don't want to invest in a new clutch for an engine I wont have all THAT much longer. I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you got a clutch put in last year, it should be just fine. Especialy if you're not dropping it all the time.

yeah, thats what i was thinking. its not going to be a HUGE deal to replace mine cause i'm keeping the engine till at least after college. so something not too performance oriented should be fine.

63k on my s14 with original clutch. Car was babied for 45k, driven hard for the other ~20k. Right now I can still launch but I can also definately feel power loss from slippage.

btw, will a KA lutch disc work on a sr transmission?

my clutch was doing fine, with no slippage until a friend of mine decided to do some 'adjustments' to it, that altred the tension in the pedal/and it's engagement point.

oh well.

as far as the borg warner goes. how light is it? is there a lot of play? i kind of like the weighted feel my OE clutch has. i heard the borg warners are a bit tougher than OE though.

worth a look

Centerforce Stage 1 was only 160 bucks...cheap, and has lasted about 35k so far.

My original clutch was swapped out at about 90k. Could have kept it a bit longer though.

Its not too bad. it is a little stiff, not as bad as a performance clutch, but definately more than an OEM. its pretty smooth too, i really enjoy it.

you need another drive following the maximas to wear that sucker out. last saturday the drive down 635 from TB's to the projectnissan meet took much less time than it should have. you also missed an s13 hb with s15 front end.

my 97 has 114k miles on it, and I still have the original. It has some life, but I have a spare ready to install.

With almost 219k on the odo, my clutch has had a long, tired life. How many miles are on my particular clutch? i have no idea, but in the last 5k that i've had it, its gone from worn to worner (if thats a word) yeah it sucks, i can hardly peel out anymore. And i got this exhaust leak coming outta the header that makes my car sound like i got a Briggs and Stratton under the hood. What am i gonna do to fix it? Nothing! Why? Cause i'm poor and wanna put some JDM power in there. i'm just drivin' it around ghetto style till i can swap. If she dies she's dead till the swap is done. If the clutch goes, i can still push my car around and show off the half sanded paint job. I'm so cheap i'm painting it myself in college.

APEXi240 - where'd you get the centerforce stage 1 for 160 bucks? was it a kit or what?

Original clutch, 110K miles. Mostly driving on city streets, stop-and-go sorta thing. Aggressive driving every once in a while. Owned the car for about 10K miles.
