Hello,

I'm looking at feedback about what people replaced the factory deck with which aftermarket deck.

I'm looking at replacing mine that would give me the option to get NAV, Bluetooth, Rear camera, iPod/iPhone connectivity and Sirius Satelite.

I understand most of theses are options that need to be purchased for the specific deck make, but i would like to see what people have installed as a replacement to the factory deck.

Thanks for your input.

Hey, all that info is documented in extensive detail, just look under the gloassary/FAQ at the top of this forum, then scroll down to the "audio upgrades" section, there are about 5 seperate threads on various options that others have gone with, including NAV systems etc.... good luck.

well after reading that section, im sure other people have more up to date information on different decks they have put in there rogue...

is there?

the only thing I realy want basically is iphone/ipod connectivity, and sirius connectivity.

Does anyone know of the stock (non-bose) system have an interface to connect aux and/or USB on the back of the standard deck?

Hello npereira,

The non-BOSE systems do not have any connectivity options aside from the line-in jack on the front. Your only option is to replace the desk with an aftermarket unit if you want more features.

The BOSE systems have a proprietary bus connector that allows iPod and Sat Radio connections. To get these options, you need a special adapters/receivers from Nissan... and they are not cheap.

IMHO, your best option is an aftermarket deck. Fortunately adapter plates are available that allow for single or dual DIN deck sizes as well as adapters for the wiring. With these parts, you can fit just about any audio deck on the market!

My best suggestion is to browse our audio forums:

zeroforum?id=99

While there may not be anything Rogue specific, most of the headunits/decks can be used in the Rogue.

As for a suggestion? My personal bias is towards Clarion. The CX609 is a double DIN headunit that has Bluetooth, SAT radio, direct iPod connectivity/control, and MP3 playback from CD and memory stick (USB). Most importantly for me, it has large easy to use controls.... one of my pet peeves of the 'fancy' head units that are so common. My wife has the next model down the DUX385SAT and it has been a great head unit. If I were to swap the one in my Rogue, I would use either of these units.

Interesting.. looks like the unit has a lot going for it. http://www.crutchfield.com/p_0...#tabs

I also see Crutchfield carries a wiring interface that allows you to tie the Clarion C609 into the existing Rogue / Bose wiring.

I guess my only concern would be if the steering wheels controls would still be functional.

The Clarion head unit is equipped with a remote control jack/steering wheel interface. You need the PAC SWI-JACK from Peripheral Electronics to interface the OEM steering wheel controls to the Clarion head unit. It's not very expensive, about $75 from various online retailers.

BTW, the CX-609 comes with a remote control. I could never figure out why you need one in a car? Maybe for the backseat driver?

Great...thanks for the update. I've had Clarion systems in the past and have always been pleased. Knowing we can replace the Bose and not loose the steering wheel controls is a big plus.

Yeah...same here. I put a double din AWAI unit in my Acura (CD Player, Cassette, Equalizer etc... ) it came with a remote but it has never left the glove box. I never found a reason to take it out and use it since all the controls can be reached on the unit itself. All I can think is if you have a big vehicle that makes reaching over to the radio an awkward stretch, the remote might offer an advantage. Then again, some manufacturers promote the remote as "Ease of adjustment for your passengers", since the radio controls are usually situated to accommodate the driver. The only other advantage is if you have a remote mounted amplifier or signal processor, the remote would allow you to easily adjust them without leaving the driver's seat.

I did once have a unit with a steering wheel mounted remote. Now that was sweet.

UPDATE:Now available: Aftermarket adapters that allow you to retain use of the steering wheel controls in your Rogue. One of several links:
