Hey, go to the link provided and you can request to have Top Gear aired on the BBC america channel!! It takes 2 seconds, just click on the link, then mark the "Top Gear" box. Looks like this could be the only way we get the show on the US side of the Atlantic!!

It's with the hilarious English guy who just goes out and tests awesome cars, and gets paid for it. It's sweet, vote for it.

Cool, I got it confused with Top Gun for awhile. But yea, I agree with S13GUY, nothing can replace Initial D for me.

I think I'm the only person who despises Initial D...I think I saw like the first 10 minutes of a movie of it or some crap...(Final Stage?)Every car had an annoying-as-hell fart can and the main kid was talking to his friend about how advancing his timing and adding a giant tach made his Corolla so much better and feel special or some 5hit like that. After I stopped laughing, I turned it off.

If you've never seen Top Gear, do a google or p2p search for some episodes, It's one of the best car shows in existence, Jeremy Clarkson and Tiff Needel are great fun to watch and listen to :D

The problem is, you didn't start watching from the beginning. Everything in Initial D, when it comes to the mechanics of the car, is 100% accurate.

Advancing timing *does* increase power. The tach he added was an 11000 rpm tach. The reason the car made more power is because it was tuned for an 11000 rpm redline, and Takumi was shifting at the stock redline, before the power band. When he started shifting at 11k, he was actually USING the power band of the engine.

As far as the Corolla thing goes, the AE86 corolla chassis is one of the best handling chassis of the 80's. Much like a sentra SE-R was in the early 90's. The whole point of the series is that the driver makes the car fast, not the car itself.

Oh, and yeah, btw, do what sachmo said, and vote for Top Gear. It truly is the best car testing tv show there is. What do we have to compare to it now? C&D test drive? <sarcasm>Yeah, that's what I want, somebody to go over how many cup holders the newest escalade has.</sarcasm>

No, quite the opposite. He hates Nascar. But the thing is, everybody blaims him for all the Nascar coverage because he does it. But he's just trying to make a paycheck. He is complaining that the only reason there is so much Nascar on speed is because there are so many Nascar fans, and it's not his fault.

I personally don't mind nascar, so long as it's a high lite reel, can't sit around and watch 3 hours worth of it though...

speed still has rally coverage, you just have to know when its on, because it is quite outnumbered.

They are still showing clips from dakar, and WRC rally monte carlo was just on 2 days ago.

I'll vouch, I watched 10 minutes of Initial D like you and got bored realllllllly fast.

However, I decided to give it another shot, and started watching it from episode #1.. after that I was hooked.
