well i get into my rb clip and and notice that a manafold stud is snapped off. my last rb20 had this also and needless to say this is a weakspot for me. i used one of those broken bolt extractors you see around and guess what it did? broke of into it also. so i ended up using a carbide drill bit to remove all the above.was a total pain. i don't want to go through this again.

so anyone got a easy method? exhaust manifold studs seem to be in very tite. so this isn't easy. anyone got any ideas?

This isn't the first time someone posted this problem. What's up with nissans? I had some misc screws bust on my s14 with little pressure applied. Really screwy.

my bad, its called a "power extractor" search for that. basicaly its a reverse drill bit that you drill into the broken bolt/stud and when you get several mm in it bites in and unscrews.

If the bolt/stud is above the surface enough so you can put a tool on it they have a bolt/nut remover too.

use penetrating oil, heat and try and hit the bolt to losen it up before you do anything though, if its REALY stuck you might as well drill it out.

I just pulled a broken exhaust stud out of my KA a few weeks ago, using one of those easy-out extractors. Worked like a charm for me, just gotta be careful and take your time..
