Im new to the forum and i was thinking of buying a new altima coupe but i am only 18 years old so i was wondering what insurance would be like for the 2.5 and the 3.5. If there are any other drivers out there that are my age or know anything about the insurance for my age then it would be great to hear from you. THANKS

I thinking it's gonna cost about $1500 a yr. I just paid for my son's insurance and his insurance on his own costs me $980 a year and he's driving a 200 Acura TL 3.2

i think it depends where you live..i just (your lucky day) got of the phone with Travelers for a quote on 4 cars (my 2.5 A/C, 2002 745 Li, 2002 c240, 2007 f150) 3 drivers (me and parents)(there is quiet a few speeding tickets on our records and 2 accidents)they quoted $558 per month.

this also comes down to your deductible and coverage.you can easily find a VIN number for an A/C online and call the company to find out.

22, Male, NY. Mine is around $258 per month with about $4K extra coverage added. That will come down 10% after i get my defensive driving certificate in the mail. Also got bumped about $40 a month due to a moving violation last year which got wiped out after DD =] Besides that, a clean record.

Dude you're in PA, if you have a clean record go with State Farm, should be ok, but you are in the Philly area so it'll be the most expensive in the State...

Philly suxs butt, NJ can have it, take Wilmington DE with it as well

Are you going to be getting the insurance on your own or are you going to stay on your parents plan? If you can stay on your parents plan, you will save a heck of a lot of money. I'm 22 and have the 3.5 and only pay about $600 every 6 months under my parents Allstate plan. The difference between the 2.5 and the 3.5 isn't much because it's still not considered a "sports" or high performance vehicle with the 3.5 - the increase in premium is normally due to the increase in the value of the vehicle.

He would be so lucky if he can get insurance for only 1500 a year. I am 21 and have a completely clean record and with allstate I am paying 130 a month. So that is 1560.

I would say a more realistic guess is around 2000 if you are on your own plan. Make sure you get assurance appropiate for you. Since you are 18 you probably dont own anything of value, so anything over 100k per person/300k per occurance is overkill. I would strongly reccomend allstate too, the policy renews every 6 months, so if you have been good it will go down more often since the policy renews more often then most others.

Well, I'm 18 with a 3.5SL sedan, Chicago, IL, male

My car is under the family company's insurance policy, its covers about 14 trucks of various sizes, An 06 Toyota Seqoua, 06 Honda Accord, my 08 3.5SL, my brother in-law's rx7 and my rx7.

We paid 350 more every 6 months for my insurance add on for the altima.

Here's what to do, get on the computer and get quotes...thyat'll tell ya which is cheapest, I find that All-state has the highest insurance rates in the state, but everyone is different so what's cheap for me, may not be for you.

You don;t even have to enter your Social Security number to get an accurate quote just use you PA Driver's License Number when prompted... Try everything from All-State to State Farm and all flavors in-between....if you are a Penn State Student or Alumni you can get a discount thorugh Liberty Mutual, but even with that could not beat state farm for me.

he is right thow, USAA is alot more expensive until you hit that 4 year hump. But they are a great insurance company. I would say they are like the stillen of insurance. I would still have USAA if I wasnt getting a really good deal with esurance. To bad usaa doesnt do group buys like stillen. lol

I know insurance tends to be higher here "up north" but I pay $1800 a year, 21 with a crystal clean record.
