hey i got a 91 240sx se .. and its.. 12 years old.. a girl drove it b4 me and killed the clutch but other than that is in good condition.. i have 2 little questions

1) when the car is at idle i can hear this little rattling noise coming from the engine. IDK if thats the way it runs or something is wrong?

also

2) when i push the car a little and i dont spin the tires at all i get this really rotten egg smell.. (not clutch) also i might have a leak before the cat so let me know what u think about both thanks

Dont do that. It's annoying, and it doesnt really make people feel like spending time to answer your questions.

All 91's are 12 years old presumably. And Fiz is right, that's stupid.

bah whatever ill help you on your way so you can kill this post. you should really SEARCH!!

OK that Rattling at IDLE is probably your timing chain guides.you should probably remove those but since there already making noise i would get it looked at by a MECH.

Ok now that rotten egg smell is most likely you cat. when they are through they tend to smell like rotten eggs. dont ask me how to and furthermore, becuase i really don't know.

ok that should put you in a set postion.

Settle down Beavis!

People are just trying to make a point about etiquette. You don't have to be an a** just because people are calling you on a lame move.

Oh and yeah... it's the timing chain guide most likely... and a cat about to crap out on ya.

Before you spend money to fix the timing chain, check the heat sheilds on your exhaust manifold and piping. Its common for those to rust out and come loose.

This got asked on another thread not too long ago and no one ever answered the guy, but removing the top loose guide won't affect the timing chain?

It would be a lot easier to read your post if you tried to type well and use some common capitalization.

Also if you actually ahve a good title then people know what to think about before seeing your actual post, Makes it easier to think "He needs help with his stero" Then tell you the size of the speaker hole, rather than "He just got shot" but then have it be "I just ate a bologna sandwich"

Well... they handle like an absolute dream! The ride is tight and sporty, the interior completely envelops the driver, and it is just dead sexy!!! It's pretty darn quick too.

Mine broke off 3 days ago, I just replaced the timing chain and all components 2 months ago. I went to the Nissan dealer and they said I didn't need it anymore. i still hear the cain rattling against the valve cover half the time. I'm thinking about cutting down and welding the piece to the top of my valve cover to stop the noise.

^^^ like he said they are not needed. There was a tsb about it a long time ago. Anytime my best friend / nissan tech comes across one at the dealership he removes it to have any further problems arise later from it.
