2. It's an old Buick styling gimmick from the late 1940's called "ventiports". Non-functional imitation engine "vents". Lower model Buicks had 3, fancier models had 4, all mounted on the front fenders. They've been used on several Buick models over the years, a sorta trademark It appears Ricers have discovered them and are slapping 'em on their Honduh's to make them look racier. Funny thing is to us baby boomers, they're making their cars look more like Buicks, which ain't exactly sporty these days.
