Well it's similar to the Tornado that has been out for awhile. I know there are people out there who swear the Tornado works and other's who say it's a load. However the people who say it work, only got better gas mileage not the HP however they didnt get it for performance. With that said, it MAY, POSSIBLY work. There's no guarantee. Dont expect any horse power gains, period. It may be worth trying to improve your gas mileage.

Is it just me or do thers find it funny these things are always compared to turbo and super chargers?

The government did a study and found that none of the fuel saving devices work. Most actually harm gas mileage.
Stupid A$S Auction wrote:The Mileage Maxx Vortex Generator is much less expensive than any turbocharger or supercharger its proven design increases horsepower while lowering fuel costs
Increasing horsepower NEVER increases fuel efficiency. That auction fails.

No. Consumers Reports, or some other independant source tested a bunch of these "fuel saving' devices and found they either did nothing, or in some cases even reduced fuel economy. If something this simple actually worked... automakers would install them or you would be hearing news reports telling everyone to install these. There is already adequate turbulance gnerated as the air passes by the intake valves

I'd suspect worst of all, it will most likely create an air intake restriction which will reduce power at higher RPM's.

Aluminum oragami does not belong in your intake.

My friend tried the Tornado on his Subaru and it did not work one bit. These things don't even look like they could work, and their statistics seem extremely flawed.

It's snake oil, along with everything else out there. Like others have said, the EPA and CR both tested practically all devices and found that none worked in any real world condition. You know if the EPA tested it and didn't find an increase, it's total BS because they're pretty generous with the MPG . There's no magic device out there. Good driving and maintaining you vehicles are the best things you can do to increase MPG.

The key thing to ask yourself with things like this is:If it worked, wouldn't it be on every new car from the factory?

As far as that cheap little piece of junk I wouldnt use it. BUT there are some performance parts the may not "increase" power but free it up. Like lighter weight pulleys and under drive kits, also a good air filter,(K&N my favorite added bout 2.5 mpg on my ford truck and i plan on getting one for my V) but like others say if little parts like that worked it would already be there from the factory, people do anything to make a buck.

I wouldn't suggest an under drive pulley since they are known for causing problems with alternators and A/C compressors.
