well level of restoration: drag worthy, i heard and it would run kindof with a new fuel line and the battery is dead... like i said it was my fathers old car and he junked it cuz he bought an audi and he ran me through a few things it need to be street legal but i cannot remember off the top of my head. and another main thing as you may be able to see is RUST... basically me and 2 other friends of mine are going to strip the body apart and grind it down and then fix the problems (whatever they may be) with the engine and then clean out the interior which also from the rust is absolutely TERRIBLE then do any mods it might need... thats my general plan but nothing ever goes to plan, so we'll see.

if you were wandering why my dad junks a what used to be beautiful car ..... he gets tired of seeing things for a while... like he's gone through 3 audi's that were in great condition when he dropped them, a saab 900 turbo (which not very reliable but an overall nice car (convertible too)), and there are 2 malibu's in the back and 2 fiero's .... my dad's a crazy fool

yeah hes a mechanic so all this **** ends up in our backyard pretty much, so i guess that makes my job a little easier because all those cars are being used as parts cars for the most part except for the ones with a little potential so i dont have to spend as much money, anyways thanks, and ill periodically post pictures of our progress more than likely, thanks for the input on the car

yeah definitely a project. You can't beat free as a starting point, but you know you could find another Z for a few hundred that you might be able to swap parts from that Z to to make a nicer car. Though how bad is the rust, primarilly look behind the wheel wells and underneath in the floorpans, and in the engine compartment around the battery tray. If it's all mostly surface rust, it's not a big deal that can be cleaned up, but if it's all the way through multiple holes, they really you should think twice about it. There's a LOT more cost involved in replacing body panels. But again, you can't beat free, so it's up to you.
