About the only thing I'm seeing is that you turned your wheels in toward the curb. That or you squeezed into a somewhat-small parallel parking space...

I live in Georgia currently after having to move back to finish @ UGA...

For anyone who has ever lived in the South, you know that people will spend 30 minutes trying to parallel park and often times just give up out of frustration!

Only Georgians would get this I guess...

If you drive & park in hilly San Francisco, you not only get ticketed for not turning your front wheels - you get to challenge whether your parking brake can hold the V on Polk Street after a quick photo op.

Hint - steep hill with great view of the Bay area & Golden Gate.

Here's my 2 cents (I realize no one asked, but I feel like a miserable human being today so I'm acting out)

It looks like you parked on a level surface. If you did, then there's no reason to turn your wheels.

Also, parallel parking isn't related to being northern because my dad and I can do it, but my mom couldn't parallel park if two spaces were free (honestly, she can't). We've figured it must be a gene, possibly recessive due to the sheer number of lovely folks who can't.

/2 cents.

OMFG you aren't kidding dude.

Whenever I'm on campus, I just sit outside the best parking spots; the ones right on the rode. I see people come and leave because they can't park their cars in the spot, then I stride right in and get into the spot in like 5 seconds while they've been trying to like 5 mins!

blah parralel parking is easy, it all got to do with the view of your side mirror, and getting the right points to stop in.

Is parrallel parking not one of the first things you learn in driving school or that your dad thought you when he started coaching you. Parallel parking is used just about everyday is it not !

Side mirror? I must admit I never use the side mirror for parallel parking... I just pull up along side forward of the intended lot - turn the wheel, back in straight approx. half way into the lot & turn the wheel all the way to the end & just drive it. Then again... I am driving a Versa so the spaces always seem huge compared to the vehicles I previously drove. The US also has larger spaces than anywhere else I've driven...

If you live in the city, maybe. Suburban and rural america doesn't have to worry about it so much.

Sadly, I've been a suburbanite almost all my life, so when I had to start driving and parking in the city, I had great trouble parallel parking (even the V!) so I ended up just using undeground head-in parking... (what do I care? My company pays for it anyway)

I might glance at my passenger mirror just to get an idea of how close i am to the curb but most of the time I just turn my head and its just boom...boom....park. only openly admitting it here right now...i have giving someone a love tap well trying to park. it was like...oops.
