ok so today i was driving around in my Z (doing a little speeding) and upon shifting into 2nd i heard a grinding noise so i said "ok maybe i didn't sink clutch hard enough" came to a complete stop at a traffic light cruised in & out of 1st gear went into 2nd and the same thing happened again so i was wondering if anyone had any ideas on what it could be keep in mind this is a brand new OEM clutch about 2 days in and a completely stock motor and it only does this in 2nd gear every other gear shifts smoothly

2nd gear synchro going out? its common on most manual cars for the t going first because of the stress and imprecise shifting they endure, even if you baby your car its bound to happen if you run through the gears once in a while.

Change the trans fluid to something that'll put up with abuse and heat a bit better like a Redline fluid, also take it easy on 2nd gear shifts. Once a synchro starts making noise it means its physically been damaged (happens over time) from there all you can do is ensure the utmost lubrication and go easy on it but you cant reverse the process, once metal has been bent or chipped you cant really grow new metal.

Redline MT-90 is what you need and not MTL.
