You probably won't like the answer, but here's as much as I know:
Since the car was leased, it wasn't your property and thus, they don't owe you anything other than a new lease with terms AT LEAST as good as the prior lease. Don't expect them to bend over backwards to make sure you're rewarded for your troubles.
Here's the bad part.....
Since the car was not your property, and you willingly left it in their control on their property, then I'm fairly certain you'll take liability for the items in the car. Since you don't own the car, they are the ones technically at a loss, and therefore not accountable to you. Most mechanics, dealers, and service departments also claim no liability for personal property left in the vehicles.
With that said, they might work with you and try to smooth things out, which would be amazing. If they refuse though, I'd drop it because an attorney will cost triple what you're hoping to get from Infiniti. Hope it works out though, and definitely try to get an '08 out of them
If I had known it was that easy to steal one, I wouldn't be paying $450/month for mine!
