Go to http://www.splparts.com

They have an intro price on their tension rods for $130! I ordered mine yesterday. They have the spherical bushings and adjustability just like all the other tension rods! I don't work for them or anything; I just wanted to let everyone know about this price while there are still some left (4 last time I checked)!

Here's a pic:

Generic no-name brand T/C rods.. I think also because they're adjustable, more things could go wrong with them. Also, the adjustment part looks weak.

They are the same exact part as an un-named JDM part. They come from the same factory and are built to the same standards. But hey, if you like buying parts at inflated prices b/c of a name, go ahead. Afterall, it's your wallet.:)

I should have these any day now. When I get them, I will install them right away and let you all know what I think. If they ever fail, I will piss and scream so you will all know.:pface

What's the use of adjusting the TC rods? Will it help your wheels turn out more?

I don't know what you mean by that...'wheels turn out more'.

You get caster adjustment with them though.

Oh, and I've had them on for a little while now with zero problems or complaints if anyone was wondering.:D

I still think the weak comment was funny b/c these things are beefy! Very very tough looking.:ylsuper

I dunno what part it was, but I did have this drift video where they installed a part in the front suspension that they SAY lets you turn your wheels "out" more. So say your wheels turn out 45 degrees (hypothetical), these will make your wheels turn out 50 degrees. Is that what the adjustable TC rods do? Or am I talking about different things?

I don't know what 'turn out' means. Sorry.

From the sounds of it they were probably talking about camber...looking level from the front of the car, a car with zero camber would look like this (the tires):

|........|

When you add camber, the tires would look like this:

/........\

I had to put the dots in to create the space...imagine that they represent the floor.:)

If you are trying to add camber, you'll have to get some camber adjustable strut tops or some camber adjustable lower control arms. The strut tops, from Tein, are around $160. The only company who I know of that makes the adjustable LCA's is Cusco and they are very expensive (around $700 IIRC).

I think hes talking about toe dori....and you dont want that much toe out, your car would be un-goldy twitch to drive you'd go nuts. the adjustable T/C rods let you adjust caster settings of the car, check the FAQ question area for details on alignment setings and what they do, etc. -chet

When I say "TURN OUT", I mean it gives your steering that much more room to turn the wheels into. For example:Stock with the steering wheel all the way locked to one side:the wheels only come to about a 45 degree angle from the fenders *Part* with the steering wheel all the way locked to one side:the wheels will come to about a 50 degree angle from the fenders

If you still cant figure it out, dont trip. Its not that big of a deal. I'm probably refering to another part. Just trying to clarify what I meant.

What you are referring to are special tie-rods that give you more turning. I know Tein makes them, not sure of other brands. Anyways, heres a link that discusses it on FA.

If that doesn't work, do a search on FreshAlloy for chambo. Post was started on 3/12/03.
