it's an ok deal for 2 of them if you like kickers. Personally I don't think they reach the lows all that well, but if this is the first time you're having subs, then it's not too bad of a deal.

Are you planning on putting only 1 box in your trunk or both?? are these dual 4ohm or dual 2ohm L5's?? You're going to need a 500-600 watt mono amp to power them although you can bridge a 2 channel amp as well

Its one box with the two 12s and its wired internally with 1ohm . About the amp my boy that has has systems before is telling me to get a 1000 watt mono amp you think that is to much ?

These are 2 of the amps that im looking at please dont hesitate to say anything.

no it's better to have an amp that overpowers a sub, that way you don't risk clipping your amp and burning your voice coils when underpowering subs because you will tend to raise the amp gain too much when you think it's not loud enough. In your case, if you get a 1000 @ 1ohm amp, you should probably not turn the amp gain past 9 o' clock.

That kenwood amp is not a good amp. It doesn't do rated power and it gets hot very fast.

This Hifonics amp + amplifier kit is a good deal and the HF amp is a much better amp. It's not as good as their Brutus line but then again you don't want to get the 1200 @ 1ohm BRZ1200 amp as that's too much to power that dual sub box.

I've clipped my amps when underpowering subs and have actually burned up voice coils when doing so after I've raised the amp gain which is not a volume knob by the way.

Head room is good. So I will agree.

Um, nope. Clipping will not damage speakers (it's not the clipping that causes the damage, it's that the amp is actually over powering them). Too little power does not destroy speakers.

Depends on the amp. You can set it by ear listening for clipping (assuming you have checked that it isn't too powerful). Or, you can use a multimeter to be more precise.

I'd love to see this. I've never been able to recreate it...
