its a cast manifold. there isnt much to go wrong. the "ebay" cast manifolds have proved themselves many times before. i have only seen one honda one crack, and never heard of any others crack. i understand that ebay isnt the greatest sometimes. but a lot of the time you cant beat it. and the quality of the Chinese parts are getting better. maybe its time you open your arms to ebayTylerS13 wrote:it's ebay bro im sure you'll get what you pay for, not rying to be a d!ck im just saying i've bought stuff from ebay before and i can tell you that you get what you pay for.
I cut the manifold flange in between the ports....that is just common prep on any manifold. It will help allow for some expansion when it heats up. Same for the mounting holes....it fit but, was just a little too tight for my liking so i opened up the holes a little bit. It'll bolt right on no problems....but, i suggest doing a little prep on any cheap manifold.KArookie wrote:I saw in the pics that the mani flange is cut between the ports. did you have to do that or did it come that way? I purchased a cast mani from ebay as well and to be quite honest, I have not had to do anything to the ports as well as the mounting holes. I did however have to grind down a minute portion of the rear top corner to clear a tab that is on the head. Other then that the thing is STOUT and with my T04E I have no problems with fittment. I will get a pic up as soon as I can. I just got the motor back in so I will mock it up again.
No i haven't ran the car yet at all.....hoping to start her up for the first time with in the next month or so. Before this i had a modified rev hard knock off.motoman399 wrote:that looks really good man. have you ran the car yet? any news from this manifold to the last? spool time- peak power?
also what were you running before?
WDRacing wrote:Werd, I figured as much. That at least allows for steady flow, vs exhaust gas just smashing into a block and being forced out a smaller hole. The good thing is, they are only 90 bucks.
I also note that the oil drain is fairly easy to route from that position. Is your bung just aft of the AC mount?
I have AC still so...nelson8708 wrote:WDRacing wrote:Werd, I figured as much. That at least allows for steady flow, vs exhaust gas just smashing into a block and being forced out a smaller hole. The good thing is, they are only 90 bucks.

Right in the middle actually....more less center of the four bolt holes that hold the compressor bracket. Overall good placement....with a larger turbo you might have hood clearance issues but, other than that you can't beat it for 90$.
