I do but its automated with no brushes, just a ton of powerwashers! I would stay away from the ones that scrub the car unless you like swirlmarks. Also remember they use heavy duty cleaners so throw some wax or polish on it every now and then.

NOOOOOOOOOOO! haha seriously, our paint kinda sucks, not gonna lie. it cracks easy and the body panels dent very easily too. Plus you'll get streaks down the side from water in the mirrors. Just wash it yourself at one of the $3 do it yourself washes if you're in a big hurry.

No brushes or anything slapping my car. And since they never dry your car completely, I finish up with some Eagle One Wax-As-U-Dry spray. It's nice for in between wax jobs.

As others have stated before, i only wash my car with my hands.

I change the water in the bucket very often.

I also dry the car by hand, with the rubber squeegee and then a shammy for detail.

My ride only gets washed by my hands!! having low profile tires on it doesnt allow for car washes with the tracks to guide your car and i would rather clean it myself and know that clean rags and wash mits were used on it.

amazon.com get the meguiar's gold package and then go out and buy paste wax if u wanna go all out.. wash with the soap in the package.. buy tons of MICROFIBER cloths to dry.. wax with paste or if u want the meguair pacakge comes with liquid.

If you have even a modicum of respect for your paintjob, NEVER take it to one of those automatic "brushy" joints. You never know when Farmer Joe and his mudded up 4X4 came through last and left all those nice little pebbles stuck in the brushes. On that note, never use the foam brush as the hand-wand places for the exact same reason.

I take my car to the wand-wash places and then dry it/wax it by hand. Get yourself a wicked good chamois (or a poop-ton of microfiber towels like me!) and dry that sucker off immediately.I use the Meguiars Quik-wax in a spray bottle and it does a pretty damn decent job of it.

Just out of curiosity (in response to Scott21384's post), why does having 20" rims preclude you from heading to the carwash? I've never had wheels that big before, so perhaps I'm missing something?

actually, MF can scratch depending on what kind it is. Personally, I picked up one of those "Absorber" cloths. they are just like a chamois but can be used over and over. I also try to wash by hand as much as possible. I made the mistake of getting it washed today and the wash destroyed my rear license plate and frame. NEVER AGAIN.

I have a real problem when it comes to washing my Coupe. I live in a mobile home park and there are restrictions on water use. To preserve the aquifer, the park will not let us wash our cars. I respect their reasons for the washing ban, but it ceratinly makes owning a new ride a PITA. I will have no choice other than taking my Coupe to the wand wash place nearby. I'd better start saving my quarters now.So what is the outcome of the microfibre/chamois/absorbees debate? Which is best to use and which should be avoided?

The issue of having rims with low profile tires is only an issue for the drive through car waashes with the tracks to guide you such as the quikie washes which the thread was started about. The Do it your self ones where you have the pressure washer and brush is not an issue for rims of course. Sorry if i did not clarify enough!

aahh in that case....any cars with polished or machined lips..on low profile tires....should never see the inside of a carwash with tracks...the guides can and will scar up ur lips!,,,

I use the quicky washes, but only at my local chevron, no other car wash. It's a trackless, touchless, power washer. So the only thing that touches my car is water, soap, and that crappy wax stuff, oh and also forced air to half *** dry it

It's good for those days when you don't need the car super clean or dont have the time to do it yourself.

Hey, no worries bro! I had no idea the quickie wash places had tracks in 'em...the last time I was in one of those was probably about 15 years ago! lol

for microfiber rags that don't have the rough stiching on the ends go to sams club. you can pick up a 50 pack for hella cheap. just grab about three packs of those and you'll be able to wash, wax, dry, spray detail, interior, exterior, ect. for a long long time. also, they're so cheap i just throw them away after using, because if you wash them they lose their softness and softener breaks down the fibers and if you dry them they get staticky as all hell because dryer sheets are also not recommended for drying them.
