Or, maybe you do!!

Please let me know if you know anything about my 'new' jack.

Neighbor (ex-bmw/porch mechanic) purchased some items from a racing team that went out of business. He also went dumpster diving and found two of these - one of which is now mine. It's missing the handle, but I can either make or buy another. But, would like to know more about the jack. The only mark I find on it is 1080. Thanks guys!!!

Looks like it was painted!. Take some sand paper and sand the arm and see if they covered something with the paint.

Looks like a nice jack. Also looks to be lower in profile than the Craftsman. Looks like a win win.

Might take it to have it's oil replaced, just to be on the safe side.

Good idea Beaner! I'll look into getting it serviced!

Tampa, it does look like it's been painted, the other did too.

BTW, my neighbor did purchase a UNIC portable car lift for $600!

It has two arms like a fork lift and can lift a car about 4 or 5 feet in the air. Will have to get a pic of it. Can't find much info. on it either.

Telcoman, those are some clean jacks!!!

Looks kind of the same, but Rich's disc is bigger, and doesn't have the bubble in the middle. It also has holes drilled in the side, wheels are different, and it has a different top plate.

Test the jacks to make sure they can hold up under load for a period of time. I have seen heavy duty hydraulic jacks fail, and it ain't pretty. Start be checking the oil or replacing it. Just my 2 cents. But the jacks look great!

The mechanism to release pressure is shaped like a 6 sided 1/2 inch bolt head as opposed to a square like what is in my Craftsman.

Actually, I did use my Craftsman handle to lift up the rear of the exploder and a 1/2 socket on some long extentions to lower it. It went up with less effort than the Craftsman. Guess I could weld a 1/2 inch socket inside of a pipe and be good to go!

Was planning to test it out this weekend like Jacko had advised.

Mine was made in China

I had to purchase the 4 ton because while my G was up on ramps, the 3 ton failed and would not lift the car. I tried it a few weeks later and it then worked. I checked the oil & don't know why it failed?

My 3 ton has never given me any problems.

I did used to have a Sears brand and it started leaking so I took it back. They replaced it for free with the Craftsman that I've had now for years.
