My search for wheel size is complete. I just don't like the way 20s look on my M35. They appear to be one size too large in my mind. The wheels will be 19 x 8.5. Tires will be 255/40 series. Compared to my current 245/45/18 on 18 x 8 wheels, this new setup will be only 0.2" closer to suspension, stick out 0.2" farther, fill in wheel well by 0.2", and the car will sit 0.3" higher off the ground.
Now the hard part is over and I am down to two choices for wheels. I chose these because of the design and also because of the configuration of the fin-like spokes. They become transparent when underway and allow the caliper covers and rotors to show through as if the wheel isn't moving. Other wheels looked great standing still, but become a shiny blur in motion.

Thanks, gents for backing me up, LOL. I failed to mention it, but Fetucini really liked the Fastoso wheels and I bet her a 10-er that the majority of my mates and you lot would come down on the side of the Lupo's. My first choice was really the Incurve ICS10's but they are only available in 20". The Lupo are the next best thing and are available in 9 x 8.5 / 40 so no mods needed to fit my car. Ilya just got ICS10's for his car and I reckon they will be simply brilliant on his M56.

I agree with Fetucini. I'm glad you didn't get the Incurve's...I want to be the only one with them . They should be here today or tomorrow, albeit without tires (which will come in April or so as we get close to spring/summer).

Lupo, but does it come in gunmetal?

Per the Advanti website, it is only made in silver and 19 x 8.5 is the largest size they make.

Ordered today from Tire Rack online ... will arrive mounted, high speed balanced, and with new TPMS installed. Shipping direct to the tire place I use for installation and alignment. Expected delivery on Thurs / Friday this week ! Should have pics over the weekend if all goes to plan....

New wheels and tires installed today ! Ventus S1noble2 255/40/19 on Lupo 19X 8.5 +40 wheels. Had them out on the motorway approaching 100mph and they are absolutely brilliant !!
I bought the wheels AND tires at Tire Rack and here is the deal they give you: If you buy 4 wheels and 4 tires at the same time, they mount them for free, balance them for free, and install new TPMS for about $150. All I had to do was get them shipped to the local tire shop I use (ordered on Monday - arrived here Thursday) and the shop installed them and did an alignment. I get free alignments because I went for the 3yr special with unlimited alignments on my 07 M and they transferred that contract to the 09 M for free. My cost at the tire shop to install and align was 0$. The cost for 4 new tires on 4 new wheels was just over $2,000 shipped.

I was worried that going down to a 40 aspect might change the ride quality, but I am happy to say it did NOT. I love the way the 255s grip and handle. I had 255s on my 07 M as well. They look and perform better than the 245s. And when the caliper covers get here next week, that will be the cherry on top, LOL.

The car is sitting really nice. The Lupo's look great!
