Its been 870 miles since I got the Sdrives put on September 8th.

I like them. I really miss the acceleration that the Kumho SPT 235/45/17's gave but the S drives are much smoother.

Heres some pics with them mounted up.

They hook up better because they are slightly taller. They are slightly taller so they make for slightly lower gear ratio.

I had a couple chances tonight to really open it up leaving a few stop lights. I can use full throttle from start now with minimal wheel spin. Also now when I shift into second gear the tires only barely squeak. Before with the smaller tires I sometimes would have the tires spin on the 1-2 shift. So the car may not be slower. I am also betting that I can finish the 1/4 mile in 3rd gear now.

Thanks I really like these tires I may buy them again next year LOL.

I should change my custom title to tire expert. This is my 3rd set of street tires and I have 2 sets of track tires LOL

These Yoko's feel softer both in touch and from steering wheel input then the Kumho's did.

Nope the stock tires were Goodyear eagle RSA 225/55/17

I hated them and they only lastest 19k miles

I replaced them with Kumho SPT's 235/45/17, awesome tires but the car bottomed out a lot. At 41200 the Kumho's were toast.

The Yokohamas are similar tread design as the Kumho and come in 50 series aspect ratio 235/50/17

Ialso have 4 Kumho V710 racing slicks 275/40/17 and 2 Toyo Proxes ST in 245/35/17 for drag racing.

My wife's RSA's lasted 19K miles on her 05 G35S and she's not a race car driver like you Jeff! Not an expert on tires, but I do like the S-Drives on my 04 G35C!!! As long as they give me good mileage, for the price I would put them on again.

Nice tires! I am impressed with how mice your car looks and yet you run that car hard on races---that is awesome. How many miles do you have on your car now?

i looked today... i have Bridgestone Turanza EL42

215/55/R17 93V

260/A/A

IMO these must be some grippy tires, with VDC off i have only managed to get my front tires to spin only because i did a quick u turn... but at a standing launch barley any wheel spin front or back... must be the AWD...

42200 and its a 2007

Originally I planned to trade it on a G37 sedan in a year or so but now I am going to keep it until it really really breaks. I would have no problem rebuilding the motor or transmission of this car in my garage so I'm not sure what is going to be the trade in point. I'm sure the transmission will be the first fail and I'm betting it goes at around 130k. The motor will probably wear out at close to 160k.

For about 2 years now I have wanted a Maserati Quattroporte, not really any faster then my G but it is a bigger car and a Ferrari engine sounds so pretty. They cost over 100k new but don't hold value at all you can buy 02-04 right now for about $35000. Maserati just came out with an 2009 S version (425 hp) so maybe in 2011 when my G has 300000 miles on it I can trade it on a 09 Maserati with 20k miles on it!

The tires look good, as does the shiney car.

Do you have the X or just the wheels?

I have seen significant improvements in Yokos quality. I put a set of Advants recently and I was pretty impressed. I find it hard to shake my Goodyear thing though.

I once described the RS-A's like this,

Goodyear makes some great tires, these are not them

The RS-A's were not the worst set of tires I have ever had but I've had tiger paw before

I used to get good years for all my other cars... BUt Ive had such bad experiences with them that I dont mess with them anymore. It sucks getting blow outs on I-95 with tires that are only a month old.

The triple treads are not bad if you live somewhere that sees lots of cold rain, ice and snow but don't want snow tires.

I run 275/60/17 Goodyear Eagle II's on the Sequoia because they are a nice riding long lasting tire

We had Goodyear Regatta's on the 03 Camry we bought new in 03, one of the tires came apart on my wife while she was preggo driving home from work in the dark. I picked up the roll of center tread and took it to a Goodyear service center. I pitched a big fit and they gave me 4 new tires.

The worst tires I have ever had stock are the Dunlop Grandtrek 245/65/17 that came stock on the Sequoia. At just over 19k miles one of them developed a verticle split in the sidewall. They still had plenty of tread left on them but they sucked so bad I replaced all of them with the Goodyear Eagles.

I used to have RSAs on my pontiac a long time ago I would get 45-50K out of a set of gently used former police car tires. They used to be really good. I have the Triple treads on wifies RSX now and I like em.

Any tire can blow out if they are not properly inflated.

You know me I check out the cars every Sunday. That tire had 32 psi in it on the Sunday before it blew. Goodyear tried to tell me that the valve core probably failed but I brought in the wheel with most of the sidewall attached and the skin of tread that just rolled off the sidewall. No punctures in the tread and the valvecore was good it was just a poorly made tire. Good think it blew out on the front!

I put the triple treads on my mother in laws Toyota Van because she lives in 4 corners and they get alot of snow and ice. She loves them. They have almost 40k mile on them and still over 5/32 tread.
