Looking for some reviews on road noise and handling from this tire. Im coming from a G with 19" coupe wheels, and have always run the Hankook Ventus V12s on that. My M Currently has the 18" base wheels with Michelin primacy tires on it, and i feel like im driving a marshmallow. I can get the S. Drives for $140 a tire at discounttire, which is kind of hard to pass up. Hankooks are about $170.

I previously had a G with the 19s and have the S-Drives on my M56S, I like them, don't hear much road noise at all to me. Handles very well.

Believe the only issue is the short life span, so I'll look for a longer life performance all season after these wear out.

good to hear, this is my first car in forever that i will actually be able to rotate the tires on, so im hoping to get a bit more life out of them.

I just pulled some Hankooks off my M56. They had some tread left when I bought the car, seller said they had about 20k on them. I have to say those tires were horrible noise wise and grip wise. Back end was always slipping.

I've upgraded to Bridgestone Pole Position 255/35 R20 and they are awesome. Quiet ride and grip to spare. Drove home on some wet roads this eve and had zero issues under power.

Sorry I don't have experience with the Yokohama's, but I've had some other Yokohama's on some past cars, and they handled well. Don't recall much in the noise area.

I have the S-drive on my M but I also have the 20" sport wheels. I like them, they have plenty of grip and I don't notice any excessive road noise. They have about 15K miles on them now and seem to be holding up well considering how I drive.
Honestly though you probably aren't going to get rid of the "marshmallow" ride unless you increase the wheel size. I had the 18" stock wheel when I first got my M so I know exactly what you mean. The 20" wheels made a huge difference improving the handling and firming up the ride.
