Yokohama Advan SportorPirelli PZero Nero

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/...&y=13

There's only a $20 difference between the two of these tires so I'm hoping to get some collective feed back from anyone who is or has ran them. The Pirelli's are cheaper and would save me $80 that would help cover install and/or the tire pressure sensors. Not a whole lot else to chose from when looking for a 235/40-19. Thanks for any imput. I'll post pictures of the new wheel as soon as I mount the tires (5Zigen Hyper 5ZR).

Does it HAVE to be 235/40-19? Becuse Toyo has the Proxes T1R in 225/40-19 and 245/40-19, and is more or less the same price. The 225/40 will actually put you closer to stock specs than a 235/40.

Take some 245/40/19 NANKANG NS-II, they are 153$ a tire with free shipping from wheelsnext.com

235/40/19 is only 0.3% bigger than stock proportions (215/55/17)but 225/40/19 is 0.9% smaller than stock...so 225/40/19 isn't closer to stock than 235/40/19

A 225/40-19 will yield a 26.08" tire diameter which isn't a big deal at all, 235/40's will put me at 26.40" which put me .1" over the stock 26.31. Not to say it's a big deal but they're closer to stock . On the other end a 245/40 will start to push the limit on width, 7.5" front and 8" rear. Didn't mean to get staggered but the options on the 5Zigen 5ZR are rare to find in stock. The 225/40's might be the way to go.

Yeah, the 245 would be a tight squeeze. Either way, the difference in diameter between the 225 and 235 is only about 8 millimeters. And, I'm sorry for the mixup, I based my calculations on the 2.5's stock tire set up (which is 215/60-16).

After looking around even a Toyo T1R in a 225/40-19 is about $250 each.... So with that in mind, back to the quesion at hand, Yokohama or Pirelli???

Oh, would a 235 on an 7.5" wide wheel be too much?

235mm is about 9.25 inches. The tire should fit on the 7.5 inch rim, it would just look kind of funky and be unstable in the corners (the tire would tend to lean/roll under high lateral loads) since the tire is so much wider than the rim.

A 225 looks flush with a 7.5" wheel.... I understand what you're trying to say it just doesn't work to well when you see the real thing. I've never seen a 235 on a 7.5 wheel, mostly 8"

Yeah, i know what you mean too, lol. Any particular reason you went with a 7.5" wide rim up front? Anyway, sorry I never did answer your original question, but I don't know anything about those two tires in question, however, that 5ZR should look hot on the car...

The 5ZR's are pretty tough to get in the color I wanted. Called around to every major dealer and everyone is out of stock and an unknown back order. So I got was availible. Figured I'm not going to turbo the car or race/autox it, traction isn't really a huge issue as much as the look. Might pick up a small spacer
