Wadup guys,

Im a new member and owner of a recently purchased '91 240sx RPS13. It's my first 240 and don't really know much about the car yet ( I love sports cars and I know basic info about a ton of cars its kinda like a jack of all trades master of none deal) and you guys seem like you know a little bit about them and I want to know as much as possible about my car. So if you guys can give me some tips and tricks, things to look out for, problem areas and such that would really be cool. I plan to go with an SR for my car. Don't get me wrong, turbo KA's are ill but unfortunantly mine has 200K(hwy mi. seriously) on it so why not go SR. I want to focus on the suspension and want to know what parts are good and what I can do to enhance the handling. Anyway, sorry if I bored you with all this but I'm excited to get to know my car and to really start to get in it. Thanks for reading and any info and advice would be really appreciated.

The SR is a good run-of-the-mill swap. There are a billion of them out there, so parts are pretty easy to find, and there are shops all over that are specializing in this particular swap.

As far as suspension goes, a REAL GOOD set of coilovers (Tein, Jic, etc) goes a long ways. This is the best upgrade you can make in my humble opinion. Then, beefy sway bars, strut braces etc. etc.

Another huge help is better braking. The 300zx brake swap is an easy and effective upgrade.

Welcome to NICO... check out all of our sponsors first... they usually have the best deals available, if not it's still cool to support those that support our site!

if it were my car... CA swap would be my first choice!!! mmmmm 1.8 liters of turbo (non-pushrod) goodness!

Welcome to NICO, good to see you're so interested in learning about your car. Everything you asked, is pretty much what this whole site is about. Check out the 240 section, as well as the Suspension and Brakes forum.

there are other swaps available besides the sr swap. Some of them are even cheaper and considering better by some. I'd look into those if I were you. the money saved can be put into your suspension

I hate SRs. ****ing SRs

actually im quite happy with it. But It wouldn't hurt to look into a rebuilt ka motor for $300-$800 maybe. Then turbocharging it with the now LEGAL turbo kit. that would be awesome.

Welcome to NICO!

Personally, I would recommend something other than the SR...CA is a good choice. Or you could pick up another KA for $200-$300, turbo that, and be making more than an SR

As far as things to know...they are definitely light, as I have found (bald tires + RWD + rain = watch out), and I don't know what cars you have driven previously...but don't get all drift-happy in a small parking lot, as many do, and drift into a light pole...

It feels like the car wraps around you, the handling is tight...and coilovers would be the best supsension investment.

Good luck with it!

Didn't actually read anything so nothing helpful to say but you have an RMS13, no "P" involved.
