Ok so I was re-assembling my current CA after a TOTAL build and this is the 1st one Ive added cams to. The cams are Tomei Poncams. While timing it I ran into something Im not very sure about. When I try to time it the cams wont line up directly on the timing marks on the back side timing cover. They both sit about 1 tooth above the mark. Theyre both even but they sit slightly off, the intake cam slightly clockwise above the mark and the exhaust cam slightly counter clockwise above the mark. The lifter/spring pressure rolls the cam back off that 1 tooth. When rotating the engine by hand theres no interference and everything appears to be moving as they should and the cam lobes are always in the same position when the piston reaches tdc on compression stroke. I know that for heavy machining the cams may need to be degree'd but when I had the head and block surfaced, .006" was removed from the head and .005" was removed from the block. The head gasket is .5mm (.0197") thicker so the head should be .008" higher now. Any insight???
