So after debating it with my wife for almost 3 months, I ordered Pioneer AVIC-X920BT from Crurchfield.
It comes with install kit - I believe its a Metra 95-7425, which was not my first choice(I hear not so great thing about it in term of fit/color), but its included with order, along with just about everything I need to perform a proper install.

But the one thing they did not include was these so called Master install sheet. They said that they just don't have for my car(2010 Rogue).

So I got to ask. Is there some step by step as to how to take the dash apart? I know that they said that I can call their tech service, but thats a PITA just to see where the screw is and such.

Also, with order, I also got 6.5" speaker for extra $1, because they said that it'll fit.
I didn't realise they are talking about rear speaker location. They said that it will not fit in front, because something about it'll stick out too much and will interfere with door panel fit.

So whats the story on our front speaker? I know its 6x9, but have no depth to get any aftermarket speaker to fit?

The dash kit install manual is on Metra's website. It includes dash disassembly instructions.

Be careful about the passenger airbag warning lamp. If you happen to turn on the car with it disconnected, it will throw an error code that you will have to either manually clear or take it back to the dealer.

Don't buy metra kit! It doesn't fit perfect and has slightly different color. Get a Scosche kit and you will get better fit but still different color. Also for the speaker you can fabricate or get an adapter from 6x9 to 6.5 so this way you can install at the front:

i didn't want the Metra Kit, but it was free with the purchose.
if fit/match is REALLY bad, I'm gonna order the Scosch kit from somewhere.

The whole reason I ordered the stuff from Crutchfield is(other then it was the cheapest place I found) because of their master install sheets - Supposed to tell you how to remove/install/location of everything I need.

Imagin my disappointment when they told me that they have no mastersheet available for my car! :wtf2:

I think I can find everything easy enough - as far as wires that I need goes. But I'm bit lost on how/where am I going to find my speedmeter wire.
And I think I want to bypass the parking brake input wire. I think it just needs to see a (+) for it to unlock the monitor, right?

Lol...I know because I had the same experience with Crutchfield a while ago when I bought avic-x910. That is exactly the reason why these days I'm buying stuff from any other source. Any mastersheet you can pretty easy find on google. As for bypass you will have to rewire mute wire to exactly one position over...it is in AV harness then ground the parking brake wire. Even if you're not going to use that connector in order to bypass the unit you still have to connect it. You can get more details on http://www.avic411.com and if you have more questions about the unit you can ask on that forum or PM me ;)
P.S. They have bigger black knobs for sale over there. That knob make controlling the unit soo much easier.

Wait. So I have to groud mute wire? woud that mute the system?
I really have to read through Hack section over at avic411.com

By the way, is there some trick to remove the panel above the radio(Where A/C vents are located) And A/C control panel?
Does upper panel comes out towords you, or upwords? I'm plying it upwords with flat head screw driver, but seems like all its doing is deforming softer dashpad around it, but is not coming out..

Hi Mity2,
Here are a couple reference sources for removing the panel:

This first one is in the Rogue Manual just scroll down to page IP-15 for instructions on how to remove the cluster lid.

For instructions on how to remove the factory radio refer to this section of the Rogue manual page AV-29

These Metra instructions offer additional information on the removal of the cluster lid.

Hopefully you have all the necessary aftermarket adapters you need, including the wire harness adapter so you won't have to cut up the Rogues wiring) . (i.e. the Rogues radio wiring has a speed control sensor that automatically adjust the radios volume as you increase highway speed.) And the antenna adapter (if necessary to match your new receiver)

Not sure if you saw =http://forums.nicoclub.com/post3587678 ... his thread but it includes some nice photos of the radio install process.

Last ... you didn't mention if you have steering wheel controls... if so... you'll need to consider getting something similar to this PAC Adapter

Hey Elton...one correction...It is only for the premium package aka having bose system.
Elton Noway wrote:Last ... you didn't mention if you have steering wheel controls...
On the left he wrote Rogue S so I assume no buttons.

The only thing you should ground is parking brake wire the mute wire you should just rewire and put some tape on the end so it wouldn't touch anything. Get small screw driver take the wire out and move to the 1 pin up...just like that:

Don't get me wrong but this is not really a forum about hacking aftermarket devices and that's why I gave you a link to correct forum.

Okay. So I read all the things you guys posted. And I'm bit confused.

Installation manual says nothing about mute wire needs to be connected for the proper function.
There are several threads around web to relocate mute wire to different location(as suggested Leo, and AVIC411), but my power cord connector does not have mute wire(yellow with Black stripe) in location mentioned in the pic Leo posted(nor AVIC411 for that matter). See Pic below

Now, as far as ground, what does it needs to see for the unit to think parking brake us engaged? Does it needs to see continues Ground(-)? Or Ground Pulse? or continues positive(+), or positive pulse?

Everyone mesntions about grounding it, but installation manual says to connect it to "Power side" of parking brake, which would mean (+).

Ground means negative. Don't think about it but just do it. After removing the factory radio which holds on 4 screws you can use the top right screw which works perfect for the ground. Even factory radio is using that screw for the ground and without that screw it will not work. BTW the mute wire is located in AV connector and not in power connector. As soon as you connect all the wires for your speakers with power etc. Get AV connector and do the mod.

So I got almost everything up and running, except the parking brake wire, and microphone.

My parking brake wire goes to ground when applied. So I figure I'll try some other wire that does exactly the same thing as parking brake wire(ground side of cigar lighter).

My unit now says under status that parking brake is on. But unit kept telling me that it detected inproper parking brake connection. So I guess that's not gonna work...
