Yet another "what is this thing"

This thing fell out of my door when I removed the door handle of my driver door:





I can't figure out where it goes, even after looking at the FSM and the front passenger door.

The part you mention appears to have two screw holes in the exploded parts view. My part does not.

Dunno, man. Doesn't look like a Nissan part.

Does everything work? If so, throw it in a drawer and go play.

Everything does work, so I don't care too much. Next time I pull through the dealership I'll ask the service advisor, but he probably doesn't know either.

It looks to me like the end of a tool that may have broken off inside the door... perhaps a tool to lift the window glass and reattach it, or some sort of "slim jim" type tool.

I've found all manner of crap inside my doors.

I'm surprised you never heard it rattling around in your door before now? maybe somehow...in a different alternate dimension, someone opened a worm hole in the door of their pathfinder where this part had some kind of function, and this part was passed through the worm hole appearing in the exact place in your door...but since our pathfinders of this dimension never had this part..it was suspended there. until it was discovered?

better get it to the fringe division pronto!


or, as AZ said, its a broken off tool of some sort?

I think it was attached to my door handle because it fell out of place only after pulling the door handle off. My window does jump and shudder at the halfway point when going down though, going up is fine. Maybe it is something related to the window, but I doubt it. And drugs are bad, sicwitit.

Both the service adviser and master tech didn't know what this part was. Since it doesn't have a part number on it, I'll assume it's some sort of factory tool used in assembly that was never removed.
