I'll get right to the point,HELPSKI!

If you had a 90 ka24e with a loose chain about 1/2 inch left to right (on the guide side, tight on the tensioner side) and the plastic was not busted, and your car had 180,000mi would you chainge the timing chain and guides and tensioner and gears, or is there some way to change out the guide so the chain doesn't rattle around every time you get up to about 2500-3000rpms? (also the inside of the motor is stained brownish)

another thought is that I have a second 90' ka24e with 190,000 on it in a wrecked car that ran great until it was crashed, and it's chain is tight, and the inside of the motor is silver as can be

I bought the rattleish coupe and was given the wrecked fastback and am trying to make one good one out of the two....

maybe swap engines?

thanks for all your help!

Update, On closer inspection the plastic guide on the exaust side is cracked in two about half way downIs there anyway to replace this part without pulling the whole front of the motor apart?

Thanks again,
