Yet Another S13 Gauge Cluster problem

I searched but didn't see anything resembling my problem - I did see that evidently there are a plethora of problems out there for these clusters.

My cluster lights blink so here is what I've done so far. - I’ve switched out my instrument cluster – my TCU & the stalk on the steering column, yet my cluster lights still go off and on. The only constant is that when it’s cold and you start the car – the cluster lights & HUD won’t’ come on. After a few minutes everything comes on and will stay on for 15 to 20 minutes and then they will start going off an on. The HUD however stays on. It does this on flat roads so I don’t think hitting bumps has anything to do with it.

My lights in the AC/HEAT Controls – Three Gauge Cluster and in the ash tray come on and stay on however.

So – I’m thinking about finding the “illumination” pin on the back of the cluster and jumping the illumination wire from the AC/HEAT to the cluster. Does that make sense and or sound reasonable?

This drives me crazy on my 55 minute drive to work!
