Ok heres the situation I have a ka24de with all emission removed. One day I decided to go ahead and change my oil pan and in doing so i removed all the ac system seeing as this was going to be used mainly for autocross events. As I was doing all this I was looking at my intake manifold and I decided that maybe I should just remove the IAC valve as well. So this is where my trouble surface, I turn my car on and nothing I have to mash on the gas just for it to start. As soon as the car starts I have to keep my foot like about half way down on the accelerator just so it can idle if not it will jump to 1000 rpms and stall and then if i floor it nothing happens it just stay at the same rpms. I already checked the tps sensor and the throttle cable and everthing is fine.
I guess to make things short could my removing the IAC valve have caused all this. I only tried it since I know there are others on here who have removed it and have no problems. Or could it be that I have bent valves because I was having timing issues prior to the situation.

Yes.absolutely. thats like removing the mafs. The iacv can cause huge problems just by not working properly. Let alone if its removed. The only emissions device that causes loss of horsepower is the catalytic converter and not by much. Actually on na motors you loose bottom end torque if its straight piped. My best suggestion, is use the search button before you hack your car into too small of pieces that can't be put back together.

Your IACV controls your idle. the IACV consists of the AAC, FICD and idle adjust screw. the AAC and FICD is controlled by the ECU. the idle adjust screw is the manual adjust. you can disable the AAC by just removing the connector. however, you wont have fast idle which will make your idle run rough while warming up then your idle speed will only be controlled by idle adjust screw.

You can remove the IACV but you have to block the port in the collector and the hose that feeds air into the IACV. then you would have to adjust your idle through the throttle plate by adjusting the screw it sets on. but what would you accomplish by doing this?
