Hey guys, just wondering if there is any benefit from just a K&N drop in + Z Tube? I'm also looking into Stillen Hi Flow intake + Z Tube and JWT pop + Z Tube. Read around on other forums and the JWT doesn't sound as great an option as Stillen. Any info is appreciated, you guys have always been very helpful and patient with my noobie questions.

The Z tube is an improvement by itself, the G tube is very restrictive. The JWT or Stillen over the drop in would be more air flow. A lot prefer the Stillen because of the heat shield, but JWT is good as well.

^^ this. JWT = Stillen, but the Stillen is nicer. The R2C is what I'm running in my G37 and I love it! They make one for the G35's too.... :poke:

The K&N drop in decreased MPG in my 05 G sedan. I went back to paper filter with the Z-tube.
Agree with others on the Z-tube.

Have been reading that the cotton/oil combo filter system just doesn't filter as well as the paper filters.

Joe, have you seen any filtration studies/comparisons on the R2C filters?? Leaning in that direction myself.

Am I looking at a huge price difference from Stillen to R2C? Only R2C I found was priced at $299. I don't think the husband would let me get away with that.

PM RED_DET ( red-det-u7295.html )

He'll give you a good price on the R2C.

R2C also makes a Power Flow Kit, which is identical to the stillen/jwt setup where you utilize the oem intake tube and add the r2c filter/heat shield. Price difference is tremendous as well.

What are the differences between the stillen/z tube combo and the r2c intake? Those are the two options I've narrowed it down to.

The stillen setup offers a z-tube with the intake. The stillen also uses an oiled filter which is not the best for filtering and a slim chance of maf issues.

The r2c offers there own tube design if purchasing the MaxxFlow Intake. The filter is designed to flow well and filter better than the competitors, which is very important.

Read up on the r2c filter and make your own conclusion.

I have used the JWT setup, which is similar to stillen. I now have the R2C setup and it is by far superior.

They are all equally awesome if not greater than the other by the tiniest of margins. If you want an Intake, you can't go wrong with either. I love my stillen intake. And everyone I've recommended one to does as well.

Go with the R2C, you'll be happy with it. As for the Stillen, I wasn't impressed with the quality of the exhaust I bought for my 05 G35 coupe.

R2C it's going to be when I can get the cash. Husband's car broke down so most of the money is going towards repairs on his POS Honda. Thanks for all the input guys!
