Well this has been an on-going problem for about a few months now and the problem keeps on appearing and the car needs servicing about every month. Well when I first bought the car 9 months ago I knew that sooner or later the transmission was going to need to be serviced. A couple of months after I bought it I had occasional transmission slippage which eventually led to it being stuck on the road a few months later in which the car turns on no problem but when I try to put it into any gear it does nothing and the only ones that work is neutral and park and when I gas, all it does it rev the engine.
This problem has occured three times, first one being the first time the transmission failed. First time it happened I had the whole transmission rebuilt and it ran fine for about 2 months or so.
Two weeks ago the car refused to move again and it seemed the torque convertor was at fault so bought a brand new OEM torque convertor and had it installed and it worked fine till today.
Now today the same problem happened all over again. When I was driving half-way home, the car drove fine and then all of a sudden it refuses to slip so I thought it was transmission slippage and was going to have it checked out as soon as I got home. When I stopped at a red light and when the light turned green, I tried to accelerate and all the car did was rev. So I parked it near a gas station to come back with my dad later tonite.
When me and my dad arrived, he checked the transmission fluid and it was fine because we recently changed it after replacing the torque convertor. He attempted to drive my car home and surprisingly the car went into gear and drove for about a minute or so and then the transmission refused to move again so he went to the nearest parking lot, wait a minute, and he turned on the car again and surpringly the car goes into gear. So we continued to drive the car home with me driving tailing my dad in another car in case the transmission died out again which it did multiple times but strangely everytime we restart the car it goes into gear again and with continuous revving the car moves. This continued for about 10 miles and finally we got the car home.
My question is what could be causing this problem because the transmission hard-body and the torque convertor is practically brand new and yet the car refuses to go into gear. And now oddly, everytime we restart the motor then the transmission goes into gear for awhile and then dies.
Sorry for it being so long but just had to get it as specific as possible and thanks in advance.
