I picked up this 92' Vert last month. I was planning on just selling it but i was out in the shop one night and i just thought to myself its way too clean to sell and would make a great DD/Project. And i was planning on building the Coupe i have but the vert is just so much cooler. So this week i took off work from Thursday-Saturday to get a good start on the vert and hopefully have it running/driving by Saturday Night. I will be pulling the ka24de out of the coupe and putting it in the vert. Even though i just got done putting the motor in the coupe last month. The motor is out of a 96' S14. But when i pull the motor i will be removing the head and putting a S13 head on(bad valve stem seals on the current one ). So it will be a S14 block and intake manifold and S13 head. I also will be putting brand new timing chain guides on. I replaced the clutch with a OE when i did the swap last month, along with TOB, pilot bearing, flywheel. Yesterday i removed the windshield and will be getting a new one installed this coming monday. Ive already did my door conversion which turned out nicely and ive already got my holes drilled in my firewall for the clutch master cyl and ive done the wiring for the 5 spd conv. After the car is able to hit the street it will be recieving a new paint job(black again, i have a thing with black cars ) but that will be in 2 weeks. The suspension i am using for now(until i order my coils) is just some good ol' skunk 2 lowering springs. And i will be using my sportmax 002s til i order my works. And HOPEFULLY by Dec. she will be boosted! Last week i picked up my exhaust in STL. Its a 3" catback with no resonators and the outlet is 3.5" and has a flare to it.(Pretty much a buddy club but i think its better). The brand is Yamato Garage and the guy makes them in Wentzville, MO. I am the first to buy one and run it on a S13. So if you guys want one let me know and i will give you his email.Oh yeah forgot to mention the top is in great shape and works perfect!

Anyways enough of me jabbering, on to the pics. Let me know what you guys think!

Update

Last night i started pulling the motor out about 7 and had it out by 830. Then some buddies stopped by to give me an extra hand with everything. While they were getting the suspension swapped over, the wheels, and exhaust, i was working on getting the pedals out and finishing the 5 spd swap.

Today its getting the new head and headgasket put on. And hopefully by saturday my timing chain guides come!

Dexter: The coupe is actually going to a good friend of mine. Were doing a little trade for a paint job for the Vert

Hey hooch! Yeah the car is turning out well, looks alot different now from what we got done last night. Will post pics up soon. But i do believe i still have that trans, im pretty sure its in my buddys storage shelter. When i drop the car off at his house on saturday ill ask him. The block that was with the trans was no good. Cyl walls were egg shaped and had horrible piston slap. The block is still at OTC where i took it apart and my instructor is using it as an example and having the new students measure everything with a Mic and what not. I was planning on rebuilding it but then i ran out of money

But after i get the car lookin good were def having a Nissan meet! My buddy paul just got done with his Sohc-t project and ive met quite a few new ppl here in springfield with 240s. I think they're growing on everybody!

Hows your S14 coming?

pretty good, my camera broke and i haven't been able to post pics but i got the rear suspension all rebuilt and back under the car and the rear wheels mounted, the 315's look sexy hangin out from under the rear quarters, now i'm tackling the front, ran into some rust so i've been repairing that, just one more patch panel on the pass strut tower then ill start on the stitch welding of the front end , paint the bay and put the front suspension and subframe back in! then it's motor time! just about ready to drop in, just gotta fab up alt mounting bracket! lmk on that trans when you get a chance! thanks

Hah i might actually just keep this one lol

Anywho, Friday night was big big night/morning. Started back at it about 10pm and finished putting the motor in around 430am. Finally we were ready to start the car about 10am. Yes were going on NO sleep. But the start up was a HUGE fail!! No fuel! Pulled the fuel pump and it was covered in black varnish/slime and everything you can imagine that you dont want on there. Then later on i find out the car sat for 4 years with a half tank of gas . So tonight i dropped the tank out of the coupe and the vert and swappe them and waaala i have fuel now! Big suprise, i know. Now my timing is messed up. I set it,, reset it and set it again and still cant get it to start. I got burps and flames out the manifold but thats it. So i decided to call it a night and finish up tomarrow.

PS: Ive got a question. When i install the distibutor the rotor has to be aligned up with #1, correct? But everytime i do it, it moves and its not on #1. Let me know if you have any advice.

thanks, Jordan

Wow where do i begin... :/

Well i "thought" the car would be paint by today but the guy who is paintin it for me(Shelbyz) found some rust hiding. He removed the mud flaps and the drivers side quater had a rust spot about the size of a softball. Hes been workin long and hard on gettin this fixed. He cut out the piece that was rusted and is welding up a new piece he made. Hes takin his time and makin it look good which i am very happy of, most people just slap some good ol' bondo on it and call it good and hope that a couple years down the road it wont rust again. Also another rust spot was under the trim where the convertible top meets the windshield. Most of it just surface rust which wont be too hard to tackle. This car is taking longer than i thought but im glad hes takin his time and doing it right. He aslo removed ALL the trim pieces on the outside so he could clean underneath and paint the trim separate. I fully gutted the interior so he can paint the car with the top down.

Tomarrow ill snap some pics and show you how much has gotten done and the progress.

We towwed the car home sunday night and i started putting it back together yesterday and today. Tomarrow after work i will put the front end on and she will be good to go! I just hope theres still a few more days of nice weather!
