Yesterday's Frustration

So I get in my car yesterday to take an friend from Out-of-Town to a few shoe boutiques, Nikes and other sneakers for those with jokes , I found in the Atlanta metro area. I stop at Wally world and everything was fine. Hop back in the car and everything is still peachy. Get a ways down the road and the radio begins going on and off...hmmmm...WTF? So at the first available area to stop I turn off the car to restart to just see if its a small malfunction and fix itself. NOPE! Car battery is now dying? But I just fixed this, w/e...I walk to three gas stations to find jumper cables and get a jump. Now Im idling extremely rough. So I get to my friend and have him take me to have the battery charged. Come back to the car and find a re-fix the crack in the intake hose. Start-up? Perfect. Now Im on my way right? WRONG! Get back to my side of town...and...misfiring seems like, WTF? Made it to the house and the radio quits as I'm pulling up.

Im assuming all the problems are alternator related as well as the 'misfiring' since I've experienced the same when the old battery died, but I dont understand the fluctuating idle because of the battery. Any other predictions are wanted. Thanks for reading fellas.
