Yeah, I know its been discussed to death, so sorry for bringing it up again. But as soon as they deliver my 5 lug hubs and I decide on a tire, I'd like to have wheels to mount it all up. I've found a wheel I'm happy with. Its 17x9 and the lowest offset it comes in is +23. (I'm currently on stock suspension and fenders will get rolled.) From everything I've gathered, that'll work for the rear, but I'm not sure about the front.

So my question is will they work all happy without an absurd amount of negative camber or should I look into some spacers? If so, what size? I've found a 3mm, 5mm, and 10mm. I probably don't want to go bigger than that as I have no plans for widebody fenders (well maybe 20mm fronts if I absolutely have to). Also, kts coilovers will be in the works shortly, so I'd like to have the setup ready for that.

The car is currently a daily driver and autoX car. Any changes in driveability with the wheels further out? Oh yeah, and what's a decent weight for 17x9 wheels? I need to email the company and ask them, but I think the ones I'm getting are just under 20lbs.

Adding spacers is only going to increase the amount of camber needed to contain the wheels within a rolled wheelwell. The only thing you should be concerned about is clearing 17x9+23's with the front coilover. It will depend on the tire size for clearance. I do know that 17x9 +20's with a 235/45 will clear fine, so if worse comes to worse you can alwasy order the 3mm spacers up front. Were you thinking about running something like a 235/45?

should be alright, youll just have to see when you get the coils on

i wouldnt run any more than a 235 tire though

and in case youre worried, overfenders will not be needed in any way shape or form for 17x9 +23

+23 will clear KTS.

You should have the scrub adjustment bolt all the way out in the slot anyway.

I was thinking either 235/40 or 245/40. That sound about right? I still have to play with the tire/wheel calculator some more.

Thanks, thats what I was hoping for.

Could you explain? Not sure I know what the "scrub adjustment bolt" is.

Top bolt in the lower bracket that bolts to the spindle is slotted.

Its for scrub radius adjustment.

You put the bolt all the way out in the slot and you get more shock clearance with the benifit of better scrub radi.

Ah, thanks.

Why? Is this simply a clearance issue? Would 245 be too big up front? I guess I'm stuck between the two widths. While digging through threads, I've seen 235/40, 235/45, and 245/40, to be popular suggestions. Regarding the 235/45 (which nismofly has suggested in the past), how will that extra bit of sidewall effect fitment, ride and handling? I guess I didn't really look into the 235/45 much because of the difference it gearing it had compared to the other two.

Currently, I'm aiming towards the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KDW 2's as they seem to deliver performance-wise in both wet and dry and have a pretty good wear rating. (They come in 235/40 and 245/40, but not 235/45). Also, they fit my budget which is about $150 per tire (give or take). Any objections or suggestions for something different?

(In hindsight, I suppose I should have called the thread fitment questions instead of offset questions.)

If you have steering rack spacers and/or are really low 235/45 will rub on the frame rail.

235/40 is the easiest and widest.

245/40 is doable but needs more ride height.

255/40 needs spacers and wider fenders.

I'd do 235/40, it has the most tire options, 235/45 if you want more front grip and don't care about full lock.
