Well, I finally made it to the dyno today, it was at ATS Racing with DallasImports.net. On my first pull I made 280hp, 278lb.ft. of torque at 12psi. I tried to adjust the MBC and it made no difference, so I made the same on the second pull. On the third pull, I adjusted the MBC too high and we had a boost spike in excess of 25psi (off the gauge) however, it made 390 lb. ft. of torque for just an instant ;). The last pull I got right, and it made 326hp and like 317lb. ft. of torque at 17psi. I'll put up the dyno charts in a minute, but long story short...I'm very pleased. Its running excessively rich (10:1 afr's while in boost) and still running through a cat. I fully expect to break 350whp once I get those two things worked out. Speaking of, does anyone want to sell an old s-afc or anything? I need to tune out the WOT settings from about 3500rpms through 7k to really get the most out of this machine :)Edit: I'm going to have to get a program to read these pulls...I'll try to have it posted by tonight, I might have to scrounge up a scanner though. Look for an update later...sorry!

Here are three of the pulls, the two that are around 280hp were at 12ish psi, and the 326 was at 17ish (I dropped the gauge, so its a little inaccurate now).

That's awesome Nathan ! I'm glad you finally got everything worked out and she's running now. You deserve it after all the **** you've been through with that car. Now....you just have to bring it to the convention. Cuz I said so. :D

Phixis, hes running a T3/T04E on a fully built KA block (Ross 8.5:1 .20 over, and I beleive Pauter rods)... His managment is through the JWT ECU, its intercooled of course with a Deltagate Wastegate and some BOV I donno what brand. Uhmm he's running a Joe-P MBC as well. He did just a little bit of head porting himself (cough), clutch is an ACT 6 puck, J-30 VLSD.... hrm

Thats all I can remember from Nathan's setup... it's alot like mine so this is nice to hear that it has done so well. 326/317 @17psi is a LITTLE lower than what I was hoping for ya Nathan, but I think you'll free up some power once you take care of that richness and you break it in a little bit more.

I've said it once though, and I'll say it again: LETS SEE SOME PICTURES!! (and dyno charts!)

Is Ms Aprille's car going to be in attendance at the Convention??

Lean her out Nathan and you'll make gobs more power. If you run some Toulene or race gas you can probably go for 12.5 on the dyno for some really good numbers.

a compression test is something you can definetly do yourself. The gauge is like $25 at any auto part store. Look on the 240sx.org FAQ for a step by step on how to do it and standards to compare by ;)

It's free if you make it out to a meet that I'm going to, and tell me in advance ;) I'm more than happy to just bring my compression tester, torque wrench, and spark plug socket along. If someone can tell you what good results are for an 89 we can check it out.

As for Fizzy describing my setup, he was 95% right...its a deltagate II wastegate, a turboxs type 34 bov recirculated, and a S14 vlsd. Also, its a Z32 MAF, 72# injectors, and a fidanza flywheel. The intercooler is a rather nice pwr, seems very free flowing :) Also, the motor only has 400 miles on it, so it should make more power after it breaks in a bit more. The HOT texas day yesterday didn't help either, it must have been over 90 in that building, and with no real fan blowing on the IC.

don't you also have the IAP manifold? Does that manifold help with spool for you?

You and I have very similar setups. I never got to the dyno when I was running that manifold

Ms. Aprille's car unfortunately will not be at the Convention. Sorry Bri, it just makes things a lot easier for me to get out there the way that I am and the trailer is already full of cars. However, it will be at any and every meet next year and maybe some the end of this year. I *did* take 4 months off work ya know. But I'll be at the convention.....what more could you possibly ask for than me?! ;)

Oh yeah, I have that too :) I dont really have anything to compare it to, but spool up is more than sufficient for me. It starts spooling around 2300 or so if I'm in 4th on the highway, and we have full boost by maybe 3k. I'll have to go do more testing and report back! First, new tires though. Also, I'm going to have to scan the dyno charts at work tomorrow, they should be up by tomorrow afternoon.

It refuses...despite ****ty tires, it just does NOT like breaking traction. I can spin them in first, and going into second but thats it. Perhaps I just need to be even more abusive :)

Its easy to turn it up, virtually impossible to turn it down. To turn the boost up, you just need a boost controller to keep the wastegate from seeing as much pressure.

Uh yeah...so I'm a dunce and scanned them as pdf's...does anyone know an easy way to convert them to jpgs without downloading something to my work computer? (they dont like that stuff). If not, I'll do it when I get home with some photoshop fun.
