Ok yea so i know im gonna get alot of hell for this question, and sss search, but im tired of searching and finding nothing. i aquired a 1990 240 hatch with a 95 ka24de swap already installed. well the motor was bolted in, thats about it. i have the full s14 harness, i guess the kid before me got every wire needed, and so i have every harness from under the hood, to the dash, and all. i have the ecu, and need to know how the hell i can get this motor to start. what wiring is needed and changes and all. a direct link to a source would be very nice, or maybe someone who has done this... do i need to do a clean cut and splice job? given what i have, how easy is it to just get the swap completed without having to go way out of budget for new parts and all. thanks

Well let me be the first to say: SEARCH NEWBBB.

hahaha, seriously though,

I would think just transplant everything connected to the engine and rerun the harness, put in ecu, new gauge cluster, plug it in, and your set.

There's no reason to splice when you can just re run the whole engine harness. Strip your car, unplug everything, put in the new stuff you have.

If that doesn't help... well, SEARCH! .

And welcome to nico

every thing will plug into the ecu harness. the only issue you should have are the dash harness and the plug on the ecu for the dash harness are not the same. if you search there is a write up. but seing as how i just finished this same swap last night just cut the dash harness in the car and soldered the same color wire together. you will have 3-4 green wire left on the dash harness ( these are for the consule port) just make sure all the ecu wires are used and TRY to start her up. and then check for codes.

Good luck it's fun doing swaps.

OH Yeah my swap may be a little difrent I Swaped a 96 ka into a 90 FB with a 93 Wiring harness and distrobutor. fun fun fun.

I helped him do it. I did little **** and told him what to do when he didn't know. Which was pretty much the dash wiring, vacuum lines, how to remove the emission crap, and the how to do the ignition timing. For some reason he was questing me about there being different distributors for the s13 and s14.

And last night we were at AutoZone getting bolt for his sr20det and he was questioning me about the damn pitch. Funny thing is that the guy behind the counter didn't know jack either he said come back here and get them I don't know what the hell you need. LOL

I feel so ****ed on the deal now its not even funny.

All i know is that damn car better run strong and reliable just as my SOHC did.

I cant beleive he even has the nerve to ask me to pay labor after it took him 5 weeks to do things, plus me bringing him the entire electrical guts of a different car. Its quite a joke.

Anyway I think me and him have worked out the differences and hopefuly ill have it back soon.

I wish i had just bougtht the engine off of him and done the swap myself and had it done in a day or two.

Then you should have done it your ****ing self. Do you even know the first thing about what you had done to that car? If you were so inclined to do the job you should have done it and not need to pay someone else.

The joke here is you. $250 for a swap is ridiculously low. I would never have done a swap for that low. You should consider yourself lucky. Now I think I shouldn't have helped at all with your car. And the worst part is I did it for nothing to help out a friend.

The only thing messed up on this swap now is the maf signal...which is due to the way the wiring harness was pulled...which I cannot help ...I of course do not want to rerun the wire all the way from the maf to the ecu...because I'm only making a $100 bucks for the work I've done. 50 of which I'm splitting with steven (burnin'). 125 of the total 225 is money I have in parts 100 bucks for the starter, 20 bucks which was still owed to me originally for the payoff of the royal purple sold...and 5 bucks for the intake manifold gasket. Not a ripoff if you ask me. Since most people won't swap a motor for less than 1000 bucks and most of the time they won't even do it right...like my buddy Brandon's rb25 s14 he paid over 10k for and it didn't run right not going discuss the business but it's a name everyone's heard.
