so i was thinking....back when ipod interfaces first came out, and there was no satellite radio, they used to take the place of CD changer, if the car was so equiped. since those of us with NAVs, automatically get the 6 disc changer, i was wondering why any aftermarket companies havent gone that way to develop an ipod interface? IMO i think it would be better to run it through the CD player anyways because more info is displayed on the screen than the XM display(what almost all aftermarket companies use for the ipod interface).

so what i was thinking is if we just got a generic(read: cheap) ipod interface for our cars, unplugged the cd changer, cut the plug off, and spliced the ipod interface in that way. im not good with audio/wiring/electronics, so someone please step in and tell me all the ways that this could go wrong.

just a thought.....

*whoops....posted this in the wrong section....could a mod please move it to the audio/video section*
