This is my 4th 3rd gen Nissan Altima, what can I say? I love em'!! 1st was a 2003 2.5 s, 2nd 2005 3.5 se may she rest in peace, 3rd 2005 3.5 se that did her job, and now a 2006 3.5 se with some goodies. First, I love this color on the 3rd gen altima which was the first color of choice I wanted for the first 3.5, but ended up with coral sand, still a great color but now have the color I always wanted.

Now, the new Altima had only 38K miles.........you heard right, 38K. Came with side sills, Nismo exhaust, Nismo cold air intake, took her for a spin and was sold and she came home with me. I have done some minor upgrades to enhance the look, installed a sports grill, black Nismo floor mats, SE-R tails, and Nismo badge. I always wanted to do work with the Altima but never got around to it because having a child, and work proved difficult to get anything started.

More work is in the future to make this the Alty I had envisioned for so many years, now some pics.

Looks real nice. Can't fault you on the 3rd gen love. It's easily the best looking Altima they've made.

Don't forget to check the floorboards if you haven't already. Oh yeah.. Lower it, haha.

Thanks for the comments, I took her to a Nissan tech shop and everything checked out so the previous owner really took care of the ride. For sure, lowering the ride is on the checklist indeed and in the future. Thanks!!

Unless you specifically asked them to look at the "plugs" in the floorboards I highly doubt they did. The last time my car was at the dealer for warranty work I asked them to look while it was on the lift and they said it was fine. It wasn't so if I were you I'd look to be sure. It's not a matter of how well the car was taken care of, its a design flaw.

Wow, thanks for the heads up and will let them know to look into the next time I take her in. Strange how I never knew about it but really thankfully for the insight. :)

Yeah it's a surprisingly common problem. Nissan did us all a real disservice by not sealing the holes properly. A good habit to get into is to periodically re-coat the areas to make sure there aren't any cracks for water to seep into. Once it gets in water just lays between the asphalt insulation and the floorboards and starts rusting from the inside out.

My own rust problem in drivers side floorpan. Image
This is the only spot. It had rained that day to explain the wetness/moisture. I still need to cut and weld a new piece. Drew Is there a how to on here about it?

The big question is how big is the area that needs to be fixed/replaced?

I have the genuine nismo mats purchased a few years back which they stopped producing. I actually like these knock offs better. If only they came in charcoal to match the carpet.

Nice SE-R rims. They look in good shape. Why do you want the nismo springs so bad?

Honestly I'm trying to keep a Nismo theme with the car, plus the drop isn't as aggressive which is perfect for Colorado. I may just opt for some H Tech Teins, still looking. The rims are in pretty good shape as well, thank you for the compliment.

Oh boy......where do I start? The modding bug got me

So I was on the hunt for the Nismo suspension to no luck, so I ended up with the Vogtland which was a little more than I wanted for a drop.....but love it :) but I discovered the Nismo sway bars under the car while I was working on the suspension, so there was a good chance the Nismo suspension was there once upon a time :squint:

The red turn signals were only for a photo, illegal in my state, wish I could keep them on.

Got my hands on the Nismo camshafts, waiting for install and got this set for a steal!!

Dipped the SE-R rims and also sports grill with anthracite plasti dip, the color came out better than expected. The window trim also got the plasti dip experience with black.

Installed the Racingline strut bar, love it!!

Found AT SE-R pedals for a steal, nice touch IMO.

Got Nismo front brake pads, these work amazing and stop the ride very quickly and quiet.

Installed SE-R gauge pod, have the Autometer ES series gauges and only the oil pressure works at the moment, the volts and water are work in progress.

Changed the look of the back with debadging of the old Nismo badge with the v6, and 3.5 se being removed. Put on OEM Nismo badge, some will like, maybe some not so much, I felt the car was not a standard se.

Installed Hood dampers from Redline Tuning, really a nice upgrade from the stock hood rod.

Got my hands on the SE-R headlights, have not had the chance to install HID's as of yet. Love the black housing.

Just wanted to share, the car is getting closer to the final vision I have.

Pics, enjoy!!
